Idk how the draft will fall but we need to address the Safety and C/FB/TE position before the draft is over.

My top candidates:

Safety- Brian Cole II 6’-1” 210lbs 4.5 forty time

TE/FB- Korab Idrizi 6’-3” 250lbs plays Aaron Herndez type of role as a X type Tight End.

Center- Daryl Williams 6’-2” 305lbs played in the best conference and handled elite DL effectively and has a high football IQ with natural instincts.

DE- Joe Gaziano 6'-4" 270 lbs that can play 3-4 or 4-3 edge with ability to stop run and get to the QB. Will probably play on Right end as a strong end.

DE/OLB - Austin Edwards 6'-5" 280lbs Pretty athletic for his build with lank arms that can play with hands on dirt or switch over to 3-4 OLB.

Overview
Edwards has the necessary play strength and athletic ability to potentially appeal as a 4-3 end or a 3-4 outside linebacker. He's an average athlete, but moves well enough for pro consideration. He was able to beat his competition, but wasn't necessarily dominant physically. Edwards is instinctive when playing the run and as a rusher. He has enough power and hand quickness to potentially compete as a functional rusher, but doesn't have playmaker traits and explosiveness.

"Williams played every spot on the offensive line at Bessemer High School in Alabama and earned four-star recruiting rankings for his play there. The team captain's versatility came into play for his senior season with the Bulldogs, as he started all 13 games in the pivot. Williams started 13 games at left guard in 2017 and 12 at that spot in 2018 (missing one due to injury). He played in seven games as a reserve and on special teams as a redshirt freshman."

I like your picks there Dak but don't you think we could use a pass rusher still?? A bunch went off the board in round 2 and you probably won't get a Pro Bowler in rounds 4 & 5 but we still need someone? You won't be able to count on the 2 guys who haven't even been reinstated yet.

Yes, we have 4 picks so we can find one for sure to develop and rotate in the line.
I'll update.

Keene is another good choice imo for a do it all te/fb

So do we know exactly who our defensive linemen are? Or specifically our ends?

Off top I know of Armstrong, Lawrence, Crawford and Joe Jackson..........

...then there is Jelks from last year who they did like.....

then you have the potential reinstatements of Gregory and Aldon Smith......

That seems like a lot of defensive ends. Do we know what they have in Armstrong and Jackson yet?

Interesting but at this point i think mcgovern and williams will be competing for the center job with looney being a backup. But might be someone to look at

I can see him playingLG with his versatilty, he is definitely stronger than Williams.

Chance Warmack like ability but better passion and body build.

Austin Edwards could be a sleeper candidate that fits Aldon Smith mold of DE/OLB
Good size at 6'-4" 280 lbs and length.

No, I seriously doubt this new coaching staff knows much about any of them at this point. That's what I'm saying. Even if we did get one of those 2 suspended guys back neither has played in a long time.

I don't disagree. But I'm saying if they don't draft someone.....it might be because they have a bunch of young guys on the roster they have yet to see what they have yet.

I'm not too concerned about safety and FB. At this point they feel like lower impact based on who's left. But DE, QB, Swing Tackle, CB, and TE is what I would consider taking the BPA at.

- OG /C is more important than a swing tackle for a team still wants to RUN THE BALL.

- TE/FB Idrizi is perfect complimentary player to Jarwin with his ability to play more FB role and still catch out of the backfield like Aaron Hernandez. Big impact on THE RUN GAME & PASS PROTECTION.

- Brian Cole addresses they secondary.
Can play in the box safety or go out and cover.
Let’s go Cowboys!
