Man-- Wilcox looks like hot garbage out there. Any thoughts on who we can pick up to get some depth at S?

IMO-- our lack of depth at safety is as much of a concern as our DL issues. At least along the DL we have some guys with some upside.

I don't think we will.

Jones, Church, Heath, Wilcox / Frazier. Wilcox will likely make it due to his special teams play.

We're waiting for cuts around the league in a few weeks.

Not exactly a recipe for success.

Like ABQ mentioned, you want to be solid up the middle. Interior line, MLB and safety. If those are all weak, teams will gut you over the middle and in the run game.

I don't think there is anyone out there right now to bring in. Let's see what happens over the next week or so, and how it plays out.
If they didn't panic on the back up QB situation, and left it as is for now. I think it's safe to do the same at S also.

My response was about replacing Wilcox only, who is likely 4th on the depth chart now.

Weak up the middle is a bad sign for any defense, almost any sport.

Pretty much. It is surprising and disappointing how little Wilcox has developed. He showed some flashes his rookie year, but seems to be regressing into a fundamentally un-sound football player with below average instincts and IQ.

At this point, I believe any Safety with a pulse would be an upgrade over Wilcox.
