Safety run in the draft

From what i've seen in lots of mock drafts, there's going to be a run on the safety position around the 48 overall pick. It could very well go

48 Denver - S
49 Chicago -CB
50 Cleveland -S
51 Dallas - S
53 Philly -S

I'm hoping Dallas targets Chung and Delmas. Delmas is probably first to go so CHung could still be there depending. It would really suck if both safeties go just ahead of Dallas picking.

Maybe if Denver takes Delmas, Jerry will trade spots with Chicago for a 4th or 5th round pick. Chung would bring a real attitude in size and toughness at the position.

I actually think Delmas will be going at Pick #35 to the St. Louis Rams.
I'm also thinking Chung will go right ahead of the #51 Pick meaning that
Safety may not be the way to go at #51 might have to go OL or WR to
get the best value at that spot than go Darcel McBath with pick #69.
Your thoughts......

The safeties are gonna go earlier than most expect, IMO.

Delmas will go in the 1st round I bet, with Chip Vaughn and Rashad Johnson quickly following.

I wish we would draft Johnson but I bet we have no interest in him for some dumb reason.

I have seen a mock or two that has Delmas, Chung, Moore, Johnson and McBath all going before our 51st pick. If that happens, then we'll either have to move up or go in another direction at 51.

Why? These are not exceptional safeties, and there is a fair crop athletically skilled corners (Butler, Davis, A. Smith, S. Smith) that it seems hard to argue would fall below the DBs you mention.

If they are 100% sold that they want one of those guys, and they really start to worry they're all going to be gone before 51, then Dallas may move up a few spots (probably 10 at most) and make sure they get the safety they want.

I'm not totally sold that Safety, or WR, is going to be their first pick anyway.

I'm in the minority with you. I think LBer is one area just deep enough and that we are in dire need for. That I think is about 50% chance of being our first pick.

i would rather have mcbath than chung.

Exactly, if we wanted Chung we should have kept Roy Willams. Chung can't cover and if you've listened to Wade lately, he wants to find cover guys for the back half.

If we can't get Delmas, then we need to go after Sean Smith or draft Mcbath with #101.
