Enjoy the first image of the center of your galaxy.
This was taken by the "Event Horizon Telescope", which actually employs 11 different radio telescopes around the world. Together they act in concert to form a telescope array. Though black holes are virtually "invisible" due to their ability to swallow light, paradoxically they are the most luminous objects in the universe. Materials such as gas, dust, shredded stars, etc. that fall into a black hole are heated to millions of degrees and become incredibly bright. This is what forms the donut looking shape in the picture.
Sagittarius_A* is a black hole that is at the galactic center of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is 25,640 light years away from Earth, has a mass of about 4 million times that of our sun, and is around 14.6 million miles wide.
