In light of the punishment received by the Cowboys and Commanders for refusing to collaborate in anti trust laws, what do you think Goodell will do to the Saints now?

I say he doesn't do a thing to them.

right.

as part of a several year long investigation, he's not going to do anything.

I don't even want to ask you about your JFK ideas ... I know where that would go

Probably nothing comparable to docking 36 million in cap space.

Simple, it was Castro. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a lemming.

The funny thing here is that they are waiting on the Saints to finish free agency before telling everyone what their punishment will be. That's like waiting on telling UNC it's punishment till it's finished recruiting its next class, so that the punishment doesn't disuade prospects from signing.

It's such nonsense.

If Goodell is going to have a foot to stand on after all those fines for hard hits, he's going to absolutely have to level the Saints. He won't of course, but they should be losing multiple picks and fined heavily. Pats lost a first rounder for taping other teams, the Saints systematically rewarded players for hurting other players.

There was some tweet or something about possibly pulling their 2nd rounder this year and their 1st rounder next year.

IMO, that's way worse.

I hope this does happen, but will not hold my breath.

To be fair the report hasn't been out all that long.

Personally, I think they should wait until the day before the draft and before raiding their coffers.

The Patriots lost a 1st round pick for cameras. Anything less than a 1st round pick right now would be ridiculously weak.

The Saints don't have a 1st round pick this year and a 2nd round won't do it by itself.

Combine that with all the additional factors involved and I think they stand to lose picks and cap space.

In reality, they circumvented the cap by paying bonus money that wasn't accounted for. Granted the total wouldn't equal anything close to even 1M because it was from Gregg Williams wallet but they should be slapped with a cap hit for doing it.

I've been kind of waiting for a thread this like because I know that at this point, no punishment will be good enough for some because of what recently happened to Dallas. You may not be one of the "some" but I know that anything short of what amounts to a death penalty will probably get people riled up.

fine by me if they take away a 1st and 2nd....Saints usually do better in later rounds (Evans, Nicks, Colston, Bushrod, Strief)
