As per KFFL.com,

Saints | McKenzie released
Thu, 19 Mar 2009 15:02:06 -0700

ESPNews reports the New Orleans Saints have released CB Mike McKenzie.

========================

I didn't watch too many Saints game closely, but he must have had a really difficult year if he's getting released given the state of the Saints defense/secondary.

I think only about 10 or 11 people do.

If Saints, who are starved for CBs, released him, you got to question if this guy can play anymore. From couple of games I watched, clearly, this guys is not good.

If cowboys desperately need someone, he might be worth veteran minimum maybe. Either, he wouldn't make sense with cowboys. Henry was better than McKenzie.

He's getting up there in age, he fractured his kneecap last season and it saves them 4.5 million. That a good start to the list.

I watch Saints games cause one of my best friends is from Louisiana and a huge fan. They like McKenzie down there and if not for the injuries and the cap number, he'd still be there.

I'd have no problem with him coming in here as depth.

If he came cheap enough, he would add the veteran depth everyone wanted.

Word. Same here.

Looks like corners 30+ in age are havin a hard time lookin for work. No one wants to spend big money on them..I'd like him to get a 1 yr/1.5-2 mil contract.

OK, that's a big cap savings, and when you take into account his injury, that makes sense . . . .

I still think we sign one veteran CB before the Draft.

Scandrick, Jenkins, and Ball all have limited game experience. I think it would be good to add one veteran, along with T New, of course.

And if the staff is serious about Ball playing Safety, we really have limited experience - except for T New.
