The latest Jonathan Vilma lawsuit blows the whistle on many things regarding the bounty investigation. It also blows the whistle on the notorious whistleblower.

Though it’s been widely rumored that former Saints defensive assistant Mike Cerullo is the person who resurrected the bounty probe by reaching out to the league office in 2011, Vilma’s civil complaint makes it clear that Vilma believes Cerullo created the present mess.

Vilma also believes that Cerullo is acting out of spite. At paragraph 105 of the complaint, Vilma alleges that the Saints fired Cerullo after he “disappear[ed] from the Club during the 2009 Season and provid[ed] a pretextual excuse that was shown to be inaccurate” and he “disappear[ed] from the Club during the week leading up to the Super Bowl in 2010, again giving a pretextual excuse that was shown to be inaccurate.”

After the Super Bowl win, Cerullo received “a cubic zirconia Super Bowl ring facsimile rather than a genuine Super Bowl ring, for which Cerullo has strenuously and vehemently expressed his resentment.”

I'd say he got his revenge but now nobody will trust him. He's a dead man walking.

Does Warren Sap agree Cerullo is the "whistle blower"? LOL...

Wait, so not everyone gets real rings? Are the coaches rings fake?

I think they give the players/coaches/executives real rings. And probably the scouts, equipment managers, trainers the cheaper version.

Just a guess.

The Saints are a class organization. If only we could run our team more like them.

Kind of agree.

Kind of don't.

I guess nobody who is partaking in shady activities will trust him......not sure about other teams.

My guess, there's a "man law" regarding disclosure of the inner workings of a team. I'm not sure he'll forever be blackballed but I would wager he won't have a great number of suitors from the get-go.

Had he come out in the beginning, he'd be a prized commodity for good PR regarding honesty and integrity.

Coming out after the fact just shows he has an axe to grind.

How did he find out it was fake ? Appraisal for insurance ?

Or perhaps trying to sell it ?

Seems like he was disliked by several people to the point of getting him a fake ring.

That is interesting.

At first I thought this was a decent story. Now I am sick of hearing about it. The off season sucks.

A fake SB ring? Man, I knew Tom Benson was a cheapskate, but that takes it to a whole new level.

If Cerullo was the only one to get a fake ring then I think Benson was sending a message and not being cheap.
