love that site. Wonder how close to right is it? We can get under the cap pretty easy fella's. Ware and Austin june first cuts. now will jerry do it? Doubt it. Maybe they just restructure ware IDK.

If you cut Carr, Austin and Ware - we are under the cap. Then you restructure Romo and you have 15 mill in cap :)

Yeah, I just used the site info to cut Ware, Austin, Orton, and Berny, while restructuring Free, Lee, and Witten.

Resigned Bailey, and still was about 10.5 mil under for this year, and substantially better for next.

JJ would really like to keep Ware -- one of "his" boys who could make Ring of Honor and even HOF if he returns to form.
So that that cut is the least likely, but he would then be restructured.

It seems logical and prudent that we should go with youth and durability -- best return on investment, and our recent string of injuries illustrates that point. So, we should also (for once) stay out of the high-priced free agent market, and cap hell would be gone in 2 years.

I doubt JJ will be that wise; after all, it's his money.

Cut Miles, Costa and Durant. restructure Romo and Ware and resigned Bailey and I'm almost 5 million under.

I selected June 1st cut of Ware and Austin. I cut Bruce Carter. I restructured Romo and Carr and extended Bailey....thats it and I still have over 12 million in cap room. Apparently we all get our panties in a wad over nothing with this cap stuff then. I would get younger in the draft after that.

all in all this shows us how easy the cap can be manipulated. The question is would they cut ware (I doubt jerry would, jerry loves his star players) or restructure him.

Right.
The June 1st cuts work the best.
I'm not crazy about too much restructuring, as it still kicks the can down the road, and may result in cap problems or dead money later on.
I can see JJ paying Romo long after he's done, and that's never a good thing.

man ware being a june 1st cut give us close to 13million back in cap relief. Jerry won't do it though.

Actually it leaves like 16 million next year and then like 50 million free the next. We must have some dead money/big contracts coming off. Of course that doesn't include needing to extend Dez and Tyron Smith etc

The team MUST get under the cap. The problem is that there will be very little money for free agency. Just like this year. Thanks Jerry.

Cutting Ware, Miles and Carr leaves us 17m OVER the cap.
We save a whopping 3m by cutting our best pass rusher and a starting CB.
Carr alone produces 17m in cap hits.

Ware saves 7.5 if cut now. 12.5 if cut June 1st.
Carr is really just not cuttable. 16.xM in dead money. He's here like Romo.
Miles saves us all of a 1m cutting him now. Saves us about 6m cutting him June 1st.

it shows how people don't understand the cap even with a tool, lol.

you can't wait til june 1st to get under the cap so cutting Ware/Austin June 1st is an option only after mass restructurings to get under the cap.
also consider a fair percent of the free agents are signed before June 1st.
