They will save around $2.6 if they release Singleton as well.

No, Singleton is an unrestricted free agent. No savings.

Cut Bledsoe
Cut Rivera
Let Singleton walk
Resign Gurode
Resign Colombo
Resign McBriar
Extend Newman
Extend Romo

Sign Steinbach
Sign Thomas/Briggs
Sign Huard
Sign a solid veteran FS to help Watkins (Grant?)

Yes. We will end up signing the top FAs on the market. That's good b/c they aren't going to have interest elsewhere or anything like that.

There is a reason we're fans and not in the front offices or agents.

It's just what I'd like.

You give me half of that and it's a win.

The new rule is that you don't have to wait until June 1st to take advantage of spreading the cap hit over two season.

I thought there was something like that. Is it your option to spread - or is it automatic?

The new rule says you can pick two guys each offseason to cut early and still get the June 2 benefit of having any acceleration hit the following season (if the contract goes at least that far) instead of that season. When you do that, though, until June 2, you still count the cap hit as if the player hasn't been cut. For example, if we did that with Rivera, his cap number would be $3.625 million until June 2, then $1.625 million afterward.

When you estimated cap room at $24M (or whatever it was), were you including Bledsoe's release?
