Ok, as I understand it, we have about 21 million in salary cap money. If we cut Bledsoe, and say trade TO to Atlanta or maybe Kansas City or Green Bay(doubtful Green Bay but TO said he would love to play for Farve), some team tha runs west coast offense, how much do we save?

Then, I think we can get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for TO, maybe make the trade for that DE/LB that came from the Jets, that plays for Atlanta, John Abraham. Granted he is injury prone, but he would give us a one two punch at DE, pass rushing.

Back to salary cap, Im not sure of the said so 21.5 million we have in free money, but say we trade TO, or cut him, maybe save 5 million for him, and the cutting of Bledsoe, maybe save us another 3-4 million, that would put us about 30 million for us in free agency money.

Say with Jimmy Johnson back in the fold, using the 4-3, defense would look like this;
LDE Marcus Spears backup Ratliff; backup Greg Ellis (remember Jim Jeffcoat)
LDT Jason Fergueson, backup Kenyon Coleman
RDT Chris Canty; draft pick or player in free agency
RDE Demarcus Ware; backup Hatcher

LOLB Bobby Carpenter
MLB Bradie James; Fowler backup
ROLB Kevin Burnet, this should be the speed guy, draft a speedy lb

LCB Terrance Newman
RCB Henry or move him to free safety
Aaron Glenn is getting old, losing speed
SS Roy Williams, Jimmy Johnson can teach him how to turn hips backup at SS Abraham Elam (Trade Keith Davis to NO Saints for a 3rd draft pick, remember Sean Payton wanted him, he offered like 1.5 million in free agency money that means a 2nd or 3r round pick)
So that leaves us with needing an experience free safety, and good CB
Reeves and Jones have been here 3-4 years and done nothing, I go by what Tom Landry told Bill Parcells, if they dont show you something by 3rd year, cut them or trade them.

So, if you really look we're not that far from a really dominant bad defense, but we need a defensive minded coach that can teach the cowboy defenders to have a swagger like the Miami Hurricanes had,

I still think we need a couple of offensive linemen, but I think Jimmy Johnson can find us some, or in draft. The OG from Bengals is pretty good. Steinbach. so, that leaves us with getting a kick your *** OT like the former great Erik Williams,

We may have a pretty good offensive linemen in McQuistan, remember one of Parcells strong suits was finding good offensive linemen like the Patriots low round picks or example Fabini from the Jets.

So, that would give us McQuistan, Gurode, big center, Colombo decent RT, so we would need at least 2 more good offensive linemen. Remember we got Larry Allen and Erick Williams each a former 2nd and 3rd draft picks.

Granted, by trading TO, we still would need a great impact WR like a young Michael Irwin or Alvin Harper.

I would either put Akin at OLB with Carpenter or Akin at MLB. The best player wins out at that position.

I am going by what Parcells said, that he thinks McQuistan is and can be a LOT for years to come, so to me, he is faster than Fabini when he came out, just as big, just needs experience, and some strenght. Parcells has always been good at finding good offensive linemen in 4th to 7th round. Thats one of his track records.

Who would give us anything for TO? Oakland maybe Detroit. No one else would want him. The market for his services is very small.

You forgot to add what we get when the tooth fairy comes...I think we get Denver's 3rd or Minnesota's 2nd and 3rd...I forget exactly what we get when the tooth fairy comes...anybody know exactly what we get when the tooth fairy comes? Because that would help us to know exactly how many picks we would have after all of the above trades...

What did Santa Claus leave at Valley Ranch? An extra 1st?

Easter will be before the draft, I'm sure the Easter Bunny will hook us up also.

...and what are they going to do with the extra money? Are they supposed to turn into baseball where average 10 win pitchers make $10 million per year. You might as well lock up the guys that you know and trust to long term deals.

With the way the salary cap keeps going up it won't be long before there is again a separation between the haves and have nots, as long as the socalist owners don't force Jerry and little Danny to share all their profits with those who don't want to put forth the effort.

Nobody will give anything for TO. We were stupid to give anything for him and if he can not make it here I would say he is done.
Also Jimmy Johnson is NOT coming back and even if he did he could not do the same thing he did before.
When Jerry and Jimmy came to town there no real salary cap and they used big money to get who ever they wanted in players, coaches and anything else that they thought would help them win. It worked and very well. Now with the salary caps and rules it makes it much harder for any one team to have a big advantadge.
Sure Jimmy was a good coach but he did not do it all by himself. Tom Landry was not a bad coach at all but in the last years did not have any money to work with for coaching staff and players. Jerry Jones probably quadrupled the budget for that and more. That is a huge reason for the rapid improvements in the Cowboys when Jerry and Jimmy came to town. Curly

By the time the contracts are over that Dallas renewed this year, they will look like bargains. I don't know how many years Flozell has left but I'm willing to bet it also appears cheap towards the end.

Someone may be willing to trade for TO due to the way that contract is structured.

If Matt Millen wants to sleep with the fishes he might make that deal. Detroit fans would cut a hole in the ice and throw him in it like happened to that guy in Four Brothers! Imagine after all the WR draft problems if he pulled the trigger on a TO trade? Oh my gosh I almost wish that would happen. Imagine TO with the Lions?
