Sam Adams is available---worth a look for depth?

I believe he is 35 or 36. I think he weighs 350 ish.

I bet the Commanders sign him.

He is 33, one year older than Ferguson. Adams will hang out while a team gets through a couple of pre-season games and then comes a calling on him.

Remember, you have to take his cap number fro this season when trying to figure out why the Bengals cut him.

Still, I agree with your basic premise in that I really wouldn't be too interested in him.

If he had anything left in the tank, the Bengals would have gladly paid his salary. They are desperate for defensive tackles.

Tim Ryan of Moving the Chains(sirius 124) said that Adams may be the first NFL player to ride a golf cart from the sideline to the field on game days.
He is done.

I agree about the Commanders signing him.

He'll receive a cap-friendly, 8 year $75 million deal with a $90 million signing bonus.

ES will then have posters dance in the streets proclaiming their DL fixed...because now they'll have a "space-eater".

Seriously, I really wanted us to sign him about six or seven years ago. He actually said he wanted to come to Dallas. But we had signed Alonzo Spellman the year before, and he actually played well. JJ opted to go the cheaper route and pay Spellman.

In the long run, passing on him was probably the right thing...I don't think we would've signed Glover a couple of years later if we would've signed Adams. If we somehow could've signed them both (remember, we were still in cap purgatory) I think Glover would've been an even better player.

Maybe he would be motivated to come play in his home state.Plus running the 3-4 we need somebody over 300 pounds to stuff the middle. If we could get him cheap I would take a chance.

Me too, I say give him a chance,

I know that Wade has said that he likes smaller quicker NTs, but remember now, didnt Sam Adams play for Wade Phillips in Buffalo, if they got along, know each other, this might be one of Wade Phillips players, that can play his system.

How is that any different from just a regular day? Anytime a player is released someone starts a we should sign him thread. :D

Its actully getting to me now.

Its so ridiculous... the worst one yet was the Ricky Williams thread closey followed by Troy Polumalu... the guy isnt even a FA yet.

Ruben Studdard is fat an available..maybe we should sign him to play DT....

This was started as a serious thread with a purpose. Sadly, it has turned into a joke.

Sadley, the same can be said of Sam Adams.

He is a lazy, overwieght, old, and underachieving player... Worth a look and not much money....

Curious, though; This just in: the Commanders are trying to ink him to a 5 year, 30 mil contract. And a hot dog.

Make that 2 Sam Adams

:beer2:

I like Sam Adams. (the orginal) Since I've moved up here to NYC area, I don't get Shiner Bock. I've found that Sam Adams Light is actually a pretty good alternate for Shiner Bock. Though, my favorite is Negra Modello and that I do find up here, just not quite as common as I find it in Dallas.

Adams is not the type of big body Dallas is looking for, he doesn't penetrate like they want. He just eats up space, he'd be more of a Parcells type player.

99% of the threads about available players are jokes.

This isn't a video game people.

We had to sit through talks about Walter Thomas, Ricky Williams, Troy Polumalu, and now Sam Adams?

So yes, this is a joke.

EDIT: And I didn't even see the Clint Dolezel thread. ROFL
