C.J. Goodwin about to be Wally Pipped at gunner.

Yeah. Our version of Matthew Slater is out because Williams did a good job today. You don't play a guy who let you release him numerous times and sign to our PS (instead of taking deal elsewhere) to take full advantage of rule changes like that. Dude signed to our PS -- and was named ST captain. He let the team exhaust his elevations, so they could have a 55-man roster for the first three weeks. Why are you talking so much nonsense?

I mean I have been calling to cut Goodwin two years straight but he does bring stability and you don’t ever have to worry about the dumb penalty. He offers a role here I just don’t see why we can’t have someone else learn the role.

Goodwin is a team player every year. Now, I don't know if he has any options other than to be (because I haven't read anything about other teams knocking on his door when we cut him). However, if we are going to have a special teams specialist, it's good to be able to stash him on the PS at the start of the season to use that spot to keep a player we fear we might lose. Of course, any time we do lose a player with Goodwin on the roster, like we did with Devin Harper, I think it's fair for fans to question his value.
