Sam Williams Breakout Year?

Typical cowboys no? putting all the eggs in one basket with the young players they draft. then act surprised when they get bounced round one.

He showed flashes of potential, but he's going to have to step up and even be leader out there.

2025 is make or break for Sam Williams

How are things going with Sam Williams? Obviously, he wasn't around last year after serving in limited roles since he was drafted. I had bigger expectations for Sam but it just hasn't been in the cards. So, what are your guesses for how things play out for Williams in 2025?

If we're to have any success as a team, Sam Williams needs to have a breakout season in 2025.

During the Quinn era, the knock on Sam was his inability to consistently play the run. So hoping he can develop his game there.
I think to an extent the Williams injury killed us lat season. His 5 sacks in 2023 in limited pass rushing stats was more impressive than what most realize and part of the reason they were comfortable letting both Fowler and Armstrong walk.
His sack vs Mailata, the only sack he gave up for the season was impressive as hell.
We’re kinda of left hoping he’s recovered enough to make an impact but not so much that it makes resigning him prohibitive!

how many break out years does he get? asking for Sam Williams

Good luck coming up with a breakout year coming off an ACL. Don’t see it happening.

According to the article I posted a couple of weeks ago, everything sounded very positive.
Everything could be on schedule but the first season back from an ACL usually doesn’t go real well for many players. We saw what happened with Gallup. Diggs wasn’t having a great season last year coming off his ACL. I don’t have a lot of faith in Williams. His play has been up and down so I’m not expecting big things with him missing an entire season with a serious injury. Not sure I can think of any player having a breakout year coming off an ACL.

Gallup and Diggs have nothing to do with how well Sam Williams is or isn't recovering from his surgery. Again, according to the article, he is doing very well already.

Every player is different when coming off an ACL but Williams has been an up and down player. One game he’ll make some plays then he’ll disappear for a couple of games. He may be doing well in his rehab but he hasn’t been on the field in pads yet. Rehabbing and having to make plays on the field are two difficult things. You certainly can’t make any determination on him in March. We’ll find out where he is in training camp.
