How long has this been going on and why cant they fix it?

1. cornerbacks who cant cover. how many of us have been calling for newman's head for years? why is ball still on this team? apparently safties are our last of our concerns.... who misses the days of woodson and williams playing together?
2. linebackers who cant cover or shed blockers to make tackles? why are brooking and james still on the team? why hasnt carter been given more snaps yet?
3. offensive line that cant block... romo has been making our oline look a lot better than they are for years. thank god jerry drafted smith
4. Dline that doesnt get any pressure on the QB. I'm tired of wasting Ratliff's talent at the nose tackle position. He would every bit as good as Seymour was for the Patriots and the end positon in the 3-4. Im tired of Demarcus getting around the tackle only to have the QB be able to step up in the pocket and elude him since there isnt any pressure from the middle.

Jerry's waaaay too concerned with getting the best wide receivers, running backs and tight ends and doesnt understand the game is won in the trenches. Jerry doesnt understand that this is a passing league and that all your corners need to be competant.

Well, IMO, this season is so far better than last season.

I understand that's not saying too much.

But after we changed 3 guys on our OL, rookie kicker, RB, new DC, new HC, etc., etc., I thought that 8-8 or 9-7 was most likely in the cards.

8-8 or 9-7 IS an improvement over last season. I understand it doesn't meet Dallas Cowboys historical standards.

But, IF we can get to 8-8/9-7 this season, and we can add one more player to the front 7 and one more to the Secondary this off-season, plus 1 more interior OL, I think we can realistically be a 10-6/11-5 playoff team next year - assuming the key guys can stay healthy.

I'll add one other comment .... given the state of the cap/dead money issues, I think for us to make the playoffs would really have been fortunate (even if we still do).

Think about it ....

A DC with new terminology, a new HC without mini-camps, etc., relying on a guy like Ogletree to be the 3rd wideout going into the season (probably due to cap constraints), changing the OL and willing to head into the season with Nagy and T Smith as the starters, not knowing who the kicker would be until the end of pre-season, not having a FB on the roster going into the season .....

This was not, IMO, a quality playoff team starting the season. That's not saying I wasn't hoping for the best. I still am. But just that there was a lot of "new-ness" starting with the coaching staff on down.

wasted draft picks on joey galloway and roy williams ugh....

Houck may well retire after this season.

We are like a Jag that looks fantastic on the outside, skill players, but under the hood, it is always breaking down and in the shop. I will say we ran the ball really well last night. My problem last night was very little pressure on Manning. We got some, but heck he still completed the passes on many occasions. Did we sack him last night?

i think butler had a sack...

manning did a helluva job reading our blitzes and our realizing if he threw up our corners who cant locate the ball in the air and adjust wouldnt have a chance. i counted numerous passes he completed with someone almost on him, he would just throw it to a spot while turning his back. one of the more incredible things ive seen.

I have an idea, let's make fifty thousand threads offering nothing more than pee and moaning. That way, even bull dozers can't clean up the crap left behind.

Inconstinance has access to Adult Pampers, but this is something else, and the Cowboys are STILL tied for the top of the NFC East.

its your way of thinking that has the had the cowboys in a pile of crap for the better parts of 15 years. all is ok in the world, go ask garrett. its all a part of the process huh? im tire of the same crap every year. if your happy with 7-6 and being tied for the nfc east lead for now then be so. i dont see us making the playoffs this year.
