Same Old Defense

A few individual highlights, but where are the stops when you really need them... or the takeaways?

Deja vu all over again.

I don’t critize wins, and the Lions receivers made some spectacular catches.

But...

The defense doesn’t make enough plays. Going forward, I don’t see playoffs.

lions have a very good offense. I think we forget that our secondary is still young they are going to have games like the past two weeks, then they'll have games where they shut down obj. They are still developing.

The front 7 on the other hand is insane. LVE and Jaylon look good at LB. Amazing.

BTW nice to see richard show some fire. Love it.

Nah.. just the way the ball bounces sometimes. They are up there in the rankings for a reason.

I never bought into them. They still have no ability to take he ball away. 4 games in and still zero interceptions. A couple fumble recoveries but that is it. Secondary still is weak. We have the worst safeties in the game. We are still all about keeping everything in front of us and not actually attacking in the secondary.

Matt Stafford is one of the better QBs in the league and was on point all game.

I can’t think of one bad throw he made off the top of my head.

Unfortunately yes, brainfart mistakes , Golden tate is killing you all game , instead of doubling him in the eventful possesion when they are trying to score and take lead , you play zone and also Db has brainfart trying to go for the ball and let him walk in the EZ, thank god there was time on the clock

Everybody and the blind man knew Stafford had to have a TD...sure enough, he gets it.

Receivers for Detroit made great catches even when blanketed, we got to Staff a couple of times, except for one blown coverage I'll take it

Jaylon looked awful. I'm really not sure what you guys are seeing. He's tentative and avoids contact as much as possible. He is the exact opposite of what you want from a Mike.

Lewis, Heath and Brown made bad mistakes which have the Lions most of their points. Jones was locking down there right side, not sure why the left side couldn't stop anybody. Awuzie had good coverage but was getting targeted.

It looks like we need a complimentary pass rusher too. Lawrence is beasting without one right now, would be more dangerous with one. The team may think the return of David Irving will be enough.

We absolutely need a safety. The problem is this Front Office has beer goggles on when they look at our safeties.

Safety and DT is an issue. Anthony Brown made an Anthony Brown play, but other than that, they were pretty good. Stafford made some amazing throws to WELL covered receivers. Irving coming back and Earl Thomas probably would solve just about all that ails this defense.
