He tucked it and reached further...but very similar.

only difference was one or two extra steps. historic call to reverse that catch. we can keep trying to justify the catch, but it won't change anything. best to move on and put this behind us, however hard that may be.

go to the 2:40 mark and watch and tell me the diffrence

The difference is, the Giants game wasn't played one week after the NFL was under fire all week for picking up a flag on a (questionable) PI call, and TMZ ran a photo of the NFL's VP of Officiating exiting Jerry's party bus.

Well, at least we know now that when Dez scored that touchdown, pushing the ball over the goal line wasn't a "football move".

Totally different situation from the video, but that overturn was a crime.

A crime

Hope the media has the same intensity they had last week. Doubt it tho

In that one, the ref didn't determine that Dez was going to the ground in the process of making the catch. He made the catch, then dove.

Today, the ref determined that Dez was going to the ground in the process of making the catch.

The problem is, there is no clear definition of what constitutes "going to the ground in the process of making the catch."

it's exactly the same, he lands on one foot and is immediately contacted by the defender and starts to fall, he reaches out and the ball comes loose when it hit the ground

Therefore the ruling on field should stand if any doubt

It's not exactly the same, because he had to leap for the catch today.

Like I said, the problem is that there is no clear definition of "going to the ground in the process" of making a catch.

Nope. Some of these rules are unnecessarily subjective. Suspiciously so. Almost like the NFL invites this type of controversy. One one hand, it destroys the integrity of the game because no one has a clear understanding of what the rules actually are. On the other, it brings another element of discussion into the mix come Monday morning and there is a cynical side of me that wonders if the league doesn't actually prefer this.

An important distinction. It was the review official who made that determination -- not the official on the field closest to the play. That official ruled that Dez was contacted, and was then down by contact. IOW, that the process of the catch was completed before he fell.

Which was the correct call, and the same call that was made in the Giants game.
