Same Question To This Board That Jerry Got Asked

What have you seen under Garrett that shows you the team is heading in the right direction?

I honestly have seen nothing from Garrett that tells me he is moving the team in the right direction. The team is unprepared in almost every game, his game management concerning clock useage and timeouts is horrendous, and on top of all of this, the team has gotten worse the longer he has been head coach.

Like Jerry said, comebacks when you lose are "hollow" and even winning games when you play poorly are not really positives. Even the Garrett supporters on this board cannot point to anything tangible as proof of Garrett success.

When they mention things like changing the culture, wearing suits to road games, and lining up in a straight line for the national anthem, these things are all intangibles and really have no affect on the outcome of the games.

Bottom line, what really does it matter if the team lines up in a straight line for the national anthem when they then go out and lose? When does winning or more specifically, not winning, trump the intangibles that Garrett provides?

I don't like were we are right now. However, I always thought red deserved 3 years. When he took over this team we were in bad shape talent wise i think he did a good job of cutting dead weight.(r williams.barber,bennett,james,brooking,choice,columbo). I also think we have drafted better with red. I really believe we were in a 3 yr rebuilding plan when red took over. Jerry would never call it that. Next offseason will be about oline.I think red could be good as a scout but he just isn't a head coach or off coord. I would give him one more offseason though to get his roster togather. oline.

Only way I would give him 1 more season would be with the understanding that anything short of a playoff win means he is gone.

If he would accept those conditions, maybe I give him 1 more year.

I don't have any feelings for Garrett either way, but it's starting to get pretty hard to make any decent judgment without taking into account the catastrophic injury situation this team has gone through. And please, before people start shooting off the tired cliches like "every team has to deal with injuries", I'm sorry, but NO, every team is not dealing with injuries like this. The only team I can think of that has is the Eagles and they are awful as well. I'm watching the TV and I have no idea who is in the game from play to play. Every week, I keep hearing the injuries being brushed off despite their increasing number; now with Austin, Scandrick and Carter out at what point does it get acknowledged? "Next man up" does not mean you can lose half of your starters with no effect on your play; it's just a dumb sports cliche. And roster depth is not Jason's call anyway.

So unfortunately, it's hard for me to know where Jason's coaching ends and the roster problems begin...

We all want Garrett gone but it's just not going to happen with JJ running the team unless this team has a huge collapse down the stretch, which i'm really hoping for at this point. It's the only way changes are going to be made.

i honestly think if we fall short of the playoff's garrett is gone

Once jerry start's talking about you your gone, he could say he's happy with your performance, or he likes you

your gone

at this point it would take a lombardi trophy to bring garrett back

Tonight was the first time I ever heard Jerry throw Garrett under the bus by saying a comeback effort was hollow if you dont win.

This could be the early signs that Jerry is sobbering up............LOL

There are many reasons to give a coach a full three seasons to settle in, however, when you can not even correct false starts by week 11?
That's it for me.

You can't build the Hoover dam until you fix those pesky little leaks.

I just hate to see players like Ware and Witten wasting their years playing for this joke of a team. They deserve better.

We were 1-7 when he started. We're 500 since. That's improvement.

500 this year would still be an improvement over the 500 last year, b/c the schedule is tougher this year.

The drafting has gotten better in the past few years, I think. At least if we could keep them healthy.

We cut dead weight and churned the roster. Is the typical RJ fanatic answer but all those moves were common sense and he shouldn't be given credit for finally saying goodbye to guys like Newman, Williams, Barber, etc.

The only reason the team is even competitive is Tony Romo, he is the only reason Garrett is still 'highly regarded around the league'. Always thought that was some made up BS too.

Absolutely nothing. Things are going in the wrong direction.

I've never been sold on garret primarily because of his lack of experience. I've been very consistent in that respect. I like the guy, I just don't think he's a good coach, yet.

The only benefit he's brought really is that a head coach change gives you an excuse to get a new coaching staff and to cut guys the previous regime may have been too attached to.

Hmmmm...I would have thought by now that all the sunshine pumps have lost power. Still a few left I guess.

Garrett is clearly in over his head. He may very well be a bright guy - but he is not a football bright guy.

This is the NFL - it is not the place to learn on the job. He is a politician - not a coach. He says all the right things but at this point, 99.99% of us can, and do, see right through those meaningless words.

It took some of us longer to see this than others, including Jerry. I have a hunch however, that Jerry is seeing what we see. A very stale football team that is simply out to sea. No direction.

Parenthetically, I will also say this, I hate when I see players like Ware just talking nonchalantly at the end of the game like the loss means nothing. That really bothers me.

I like how the roster has been somewhat overhauled over the past few seasons. We've added young talent while cutting dead weight. Worthless though when you can't do anything with it.

I had high hopes for Garrett when he took over. Loved his message. But he has shown to be incredibly incompetent, void of passion for the game, void of an understanding of the game, an inability to gameplan, and inability to correct penalties, etc.

He makes Jim Zorn look like a quality head coach.

The players have become used to both losing, and sleep walking through large portions of each game. Instead of challenging the team, like Shanahan did two weeks ago, the lame party line of "good effort," "our comeback fell just short," etc. is trotted out again and again. I'm ready for another coaching change at this point...
