The offensive line is AWFUL. Costa was an absolute train wreck last night. He can't let the defense trick him into hiking the ball. They were being bush league, but it's not illegal. Gotta be smarter than that. What is up with Doug Free? Is he injured or something? The offensive line alone had I believe at least five penalties. That doesn't count four bad snaps. Free was caught holding twice. Someone needs to ask Garrett what the hell is up with Free? I can't imagine he has quit playing now that he got his big contract. I was with which ever announcer said pull Costa and put Kowalski in last night.
Ogletree is a bone head. Plain and simple. The kid has some physical talent, but he doesn't play with his head. He just doesn't appear very intelligent on the field. When Romo threw that ball up in the air, I thought "oh no". Then I saw Ogletree and the route he was running, I though okay, this could actually work out since the Commanders soldout on the blitz. ....then I noticed Ogletree wasn't paying attention. He ran his route much deeper than he should of. Not only that. Romo was under heavy pressure and he didn't even look back until he finally made his cut. Ogletree. You sir, are an idiot. You are also in year three. You better wake the **** up, or your *** is out of here.
Tony Romo is a freaking trooper. I mean WOW. It was as if someone put sugar in the Cowboys offense, yet Tony was still able to make things happen to get the Cowboys in position to at least kick a field goal. I mean his performance under the circumstances was just amazing and I didn't even point out the fact that he has broken ribs! Hey Tony, you can wear your hat any damn way you want and I won't say a word.
Witten is awesome. What can you say? Fred Davis is looking pretty good, but the Foreskins fans need are nuts thinking they can compare him to Witten. Davis has been in the league for four years and Witten has a single season with more yards than Davis has in his entire career. Not only that, Davis has 10TDs for his career. Witten had 9 just last year alone! Foreskin fans, do you want to compare Kerrigan to Ware next? I mean, he is showing some ability. I'm guessing you think he is the next Ware right?
Dez was quite for a lot of the game, but when the Cowboys needed him on something like 3 and 18, he punked the Commanders for 30!
Sean Lee? Do I actually need to say anything? The kid is beasting.
Our defensive pressure was extremely slow to get to the QB. Grossman had 5-8 seconds in the pocket on almost every pass play. The skins pass protection did well. We ended up with three sacks, but except for one, I think those sacks were all on Grossman. He had a lot of time, yet would hold on to the ball long enough for out rushers to get to him.
Bailey kicked that ball off beyond the end zone on one kick and another went to the 12. That is almost 25 yard difference. What is with that? I've got to give him props for making all his field goals though. We needed every one of them.
Dwayne Harris just doesn't look like he has any confidence when he is back there returning kicks. He doesn't look anything like he did when he was at East Carolina. He is thinking too much back there. Just play dude!
It was good to see Felix break off some big runs. Especially after the announcers kept beating it into the viewers heads that the Cowboys couldn't run the ball more than eight yards. Well guys, he AVERAGED 8.2 yards per carry last night.
I hardly noticed Newman last night. That's a good thing! I DID noticed that Jenkins is always getting injured. Someone please get him a skirt.
Man it sucks that Hatcher went down. (strained calf?) The kid has been playing well. I hate his and Spencers beards though.
Trent Williams did a good job on Ware most of the time. Trent Williams got angry on one play and pushed Ware and you saw Ware get fired up after that. The very next play Ware made Trent look like a peewee football player with a spin move and planted Grossman. Ware needs to use that spin move more often. I hardly ever see it.
Kenyon Coleman is NOT the same player that left here a few years ago. He has definitely matured as a player. I'm liking what he is selling.
I've got to say, I don't like how Garrett calls plays in short yardage situations. I also hated that play called on 3 and 8 (after the idiot oline penalty backed us up)
There were a few plays where you could see the Commanders going full zone with minimal rush. Every time I saw that, I was thinking audible run! They only did it once. That one time, Felix rammed it down their throat. The Cowboys preach, take what the defense gives you. Well, they were giving them the run and they didn't take it. :/
Now I pose a question: Are the Cowboys playing to their opponent? Jets, 49ers, Commanders. All of them were close battles, but all three different level of opponents. I've seen the Cowboys do this before. I hope that isn't the case.
Cowboys Win and take a share of the division lead. Even with an ugly game and a lot to take issue with, you can't take issue with that! Go Cowboys!
Bonus: Commanders thoughts
On one of Felix's long run plays. We had a lead blocker. I can't remember who it was, but that isn't important. What is important is that he took out both defenders and that allowed Felix to break off that huge run. I take that back, he didn't take out both defenders, he took out one and the other one was straight up idiot. He blocked one guy, and the other guy instead of tackling Felix, decided to also hit the lead blocker!?!?!?
*** was he thinking?
Typical idiot Commanders. :laugh2:
All those Commanders fans that came over here saying Grossman is a new QB. Not like before, I ask them to go watch that tape. Grossman sucks. He was HORRIBLE last night. Grossman alone allowed the Cowboys to win this game. I mean our defense was giving him 5-8 seconds per snap to throw the ball and he still sucked ***. Grossman and Romo had almost the same stat line last night, except Grossman had a TD. Yet even so, Romo outplayed him by a long way.
On the note above about Grossman, I got to say I have to give it to the Commanders pass protection. They did a great job last night considering. To bad their QB sucks ***.
Their defense is looking pretty good. I can't wait till we are completely healthy and hopefully our offensive line stops playing like high schoolers. Even with the Commanders defense playing well, you could see if the Cowboys were in form and healthy, they would still beat up on that defense.
The Commanders defense were being Bush League last night calling cadence. This is what caused Costa to hike the ball at the wrong time. But, you know what? Nothing illegal about it. Costa has to be smarter than that.
Commanders are on the rise. They are definitely getting better. I hate the Commanders and love to watch them flounder, but being that I hate the Skins the most, I love the competition with them! I hope the Eagles flounder for the next few years. Especially the entire time Vick is on their roster.
