If you are an extreme Apple fanboy, this thread isn't for you. Move along as I'm not interested in listening to you babble about the next iPhone. Don't want to hear me about the Android? Then get the hell out of my thread! :laugh2:

====================================================

I think I've found the phone that will finally replace my Nexus One once I'm ready. This phone appears to be straight beast.

  • Dual Core Proc that tests twice as fast as Nexus One with Android 2.2. My Nexus One is still fast in comparison to a lot of today's phones.
  • Up to 48GB (possibly 64) of storage (16GB on board + 32GB SD)
  • Android 2.3.3 to start (I have 2.3.4 on my Nexus One)
  • 4.3" WVGA SUPER AMOLED display (though it's getting a little bigger than I like)
  • 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera
  • 1080P video recording and playback.
  • WiFi, Bluetooth v3+HS, USBv2 (would prefer USBv3)
  • Can buy it unlocked without all the bloatware that providers install.

There is one downside to this. $630 (unlocked) is getting damn steep for a phone. (and I do prefer my phone unlocked) Although reviews say it is flat out the best phone on the market and a huge margin and believe it very well could eclipse all phones currently in development to boot.

That's not a downside, it's an anchor.
That's a ridiculous price for a pocket sized computer of limited utility.

I read something the other day about there had been less than 2 million Android tablets sold worldwide. That was pretty shocking.

You can buy it from a provider subsidized. This link says it could be under $100 (WOW) from someone like AT&T and that T-Mobile might release it has the Hercules rather than Galaxy S2.

Then again at $630, you are getting the best hardware on the block bar-none.

I wouldn't use a Samsung phone for a paperweight.

I prefer HTC, but this phone is better than anything HTC is currently producing.

Youtube doesn't work? Must be a hardware issue as it shouldn't have any problems on Android since they are both Google products.

I don't know. It works horribly. Even when I'm connected to Wi-fi, it's not near as good as it should be. Even my Palm Pre sucked at Youtube. Oh wells, good thing I has a 'puter.

I am really interested in seeing the Motorola Droid Bionic. It is a bit thicker then a lot of phones but they are also getting around 40% more battery life then other 4G phones. Plus it has dual 1ghz processors in it.

So I'm due for an upgrade in 2 weeks (Verizon). What's the best phone currently out there?

Oh I didn't think that one was out yet. I guess I should read thoroughly next time, lol. I'm on a old blackberry right now.

Wait a month and get the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 4 is still the best selling phone, considered by most to still be the best phone on the market and it's over a year old. The iPhone 5 will be significantly better than anything else out there.

Love the horsepower of the phone, though I'm not sure most people need it. I wouldn't mind it since I like shiny new things, but design wise, I'm not thrilled by the construction of it.

It's thin enough, but it looks cheap and plasticy, which I'm not a fan of at all. For my money, Apple is simply the best in the business in terms of hardware design, and could probably make a killing doing just that for other companies.

I'm not looking to change phones anytime soon, but this could certainly be a contender if I decide to go Android.

From the front and sides, it just looks like a cheap knockoff of the iPhone 4 to me.
