I'm hoping it's just an adjustment period learning the Kiffin 4-3 scheme which requires deep drops.

I might be stating the obvious, but I was @ the game and noticed Carter got benched for Sims. Bruce just seemed totally lost out there. He has the athleticism to guard RB's 1 on 1, he just played like a potato.

Umm, no. But its pretty obvious San Diego's coaching staff saw something and took advantage of it today. They knew how to exploit a weakness.

Well, Gates is one thing. Hall of famer. But Woodhead? Come on now. Still, over the long run, I'd take our LBers over him.

Because Sean Lee and Bruce Carter are absolutely key to this 4-3 Kiffin defense. They have to be able make those deep drops and run with TEs and even WRs down the seams.

I agree but at the same time without good defensive line play none of it means anything. And we got poor secondary, defensive line and linebacker play. All of it was bad. Barry Church was the only player out there I felt that looked like he belonged.

For my part, that is part of the game.....Kiffen calls a particular defense set, and its bound to happen they call the perfect play against it.............

What I wonder is............why doesn't that ever happen inside our offensive scheme, why cant we iso a dunbar on a Lb once a game, or a Dez against a Safety coming out of a bunch set

This kind of makes the point. They exploited our weaknesses, but we couldn't find a way to return the favor.
