New England will not be drafting a qb. If they don’t think hunter is worth number 1 pick they may want to trade. I see San Fran moving up to grab sanders, the jets will be looking to get sanders as well.

Why would San Fran move up to draft a qb when they have one already who has taken them to the SB twice and the NFCC game once. Yes you going to have to pay Purdy with a new contract but such is the NFL.

I'm scratching my head. San Fran is not going to give up a ton of draft capitol to move to grab a QB they don't need. The niners have a "small "cap problem and need all the draft picks they can get.

he's taken the 9ers to only 1 super bowl.
jimmy g took them to 1 also.
purdy has taken them to 2 nfc title games...a loss to philly...and a win over detroit.

i doubt the 9ers move off purdy.
if they did move up to 1...it wouldn't be for a qb.
but i don't think they will.

Depends on how much Purdy wants on the new contract. If he wants to reset the QB market, it wouldn't surprise me at all if SF moved on.
maybe.
he's a good qb.
i like cam ward.
but i don't think he'd make me move off purdy.
i wouldn't move off purdy for sanders.

Well, Purdy was healthy all year and you saw how good they were without a lot of the pro bowl supporting cast. So, what good is Purdy if you can't afford to surround him with lots of talent? It's the same question we have in Dallas with Dak.

Nope...pro-'ripping people off' posters have over-run sports message boards for 2 decades now pushing an agenda that NO ONE is worth their pay...

Players, the ones generating the money, are told they are not worth the money they bring in...

Its a lousy scheme by those with no feelings whom are enamored with numbers and greed.

Infatuation with numbers leads a being to do negative things to others for "better numbers". Look no further than Cooperate America and the Stock Market.

Is Lynch going to appease his followers, or play it safe?

That's not true. Have you heard of the salary cap? When you have to field a roster of 53 players, questions about who is worth what are legitimate concerns. You can't pay everyone what they are worth on the open market. The Niners success has come with a very specific formula. They go cheap at QB (Alex Smith, Colin Kapernick, Jimmy Garropolo, and now Brock Purdy) and load up on defense and the skill positions. If they let Purdy reset the QB market or pay him 50M, that formula goes out the window. Do you think Purdy can carry an offense like Mahomes or Josh Allen? Nope. You saw this year that without their great skill position players, Purdy is just another QB. Through 16 games, he's got 3800 yards, 20 TDs , and 12 INTS. Very mediocre stuff. Paying him would be foolish.

Im over the lousy excuses, like the ones you are pushing...

Define YOUR IDEAL percentage of cap for each position, along with what you think the MAX PERCENTAGE should be for SUPERSTARS at that position.

Give me your list and then we can talk. Until, your leaving a door open to argue for pages and pages and pages...which is what you want unfortunately.

Dont just talk about it, define your percentages before you start claiming so and so isnt worth it.

Until this board defines the percentages...this board is engulfed in controversy, which only benefits the people that profit off this board.

I think your ideology is tinkering with overpaying non-important positions. Money left over from paying QB's large contracts will cause the percentage of pay for long-snappers to increase. Dont try and lie to me and say that the money left over from QB's will only go to other skill positions.

Im not for Big Cats taking all the money, but Im not for, in a sport with cap implications, wanting to pay positions lower on the totem pole.

Its over-pay QB's(important position), or devalue the QB so that other less important positions get paid better.

Its a tough balancing act, but I think the Owner and Agents of Players have mostly figured it out. Sorry to be an a-hole about it.

I get the 49ers ideology of a balanced team, but they havent won squat with that philosophy, so Lynch is the same as Jerry at this point.

Pay a QB that can compete with Mahomes, because Mahomes eats through well paid, balanced teams. Paying a QB is better than a good defense that good QB's are eating up.

It's not a one size fits all formula of percentages or anyone could do the GM job with equal chance of success.

What you pay depends on your QB. Dak and Purdy are not the same as Mahomes or Lamar Jackson. You can't pay them like they are and hope to compete. The Niners have been far more successful and much much closer than the Cowboys for a long time. There is a difference between losing in the divisional round of the playoff and losing a Super Bowl. Heck, we haven't even been to an NFC title game since 1996. No way you can compare what John Lynch has done in SF to Jerry's folly and futility for the past 28 years. lol

The Jets have no QB . Neither do the Giants Browns or Raiders . The more teams that opt in for QB the better for Dallas

If NE lands the top pick, then they for sure should welcome trade offers.

They are in the perfect situation to do so as they don't need a QB, while several teams do, and the Pats have gaping holes all over their roster.
