Sanjay Lal, who was the wide receivers coach with the Indianapolis Colts in 2017, is interviewing with the Cowboys, according to multiple sources. The Cowboys have also met with Miles Austin about the opening. Lal has also worked with Oakland, Buffalo and the New York Jets.

Never heard of him. He’s older (48) which some will like on here but his resume doesn’t excite me

WE need this guy:

Kasey Dunn WR Coach OKSTATE

Lal was the wide receivers coach on the Oakland Raiders staff from 2009-2011, during which time he coached and developed young receivers such as Chaz Schilens, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Louis Murphy, Jacoby Ford, and Denarius Moore.[3] Prior to that, he was the quality control coach for the Oakland Raiders from 2007-2008.

So, he is not a good developmental guy lol.

So, we think another coach would have turned those guys into studs? I don't think that can be said as a certainty. Oakland had a void of talent for a long time.

Just wondering what criteria this board uses to rate a potential wr coach.

Maybe having some sort of success somewhere.

Seems this guy hasn't really produced a very good WR in his time as WR coach. It could also be that he had scraps to work with at some of these spots. Although didn't Buffalo have some decent WRs in 15 and 16?

with asst coaches knowing the situation in dallas most are not going to want to gothere and then have to find another job the next year

Heres a question, do we really need a WR coach. Cant the OC pretty much coach em up?

There is probably some truth to this. Coaches aren't stupid and given particular life situations (young families, etc.) they may see the Cowboys and Garrett as too big a risk to take. Uproot your family for a season only to be out of a job in 2019?

How does an assistant wr coach "produce" a very good wr? How would anyone on the outside know if it was just a talented wr or coaching?
