It may have to do something with the nature of litigation and criminal investigation.

Michael Vick wasn't suspended either until he pleaded guilty.

I don't know the exact rule, but it appears offenses that involve the criminal justice system are delayed until the case is resolved. Those situations may stand outside the NFL's policies and procedures.

what does differance mean?

Also if Pacman was supposed by Jerry instead of the Commish he wouldn't have been suspended by the Commish. Pac violated a term of his probation since the incident was alcohol related which is why he get suspended.

Switz, unless I'm mistaken you are from Western Pa like myself. You know, like I know, that Rooney has the refs in his back pocket and the commissioner, in this case Goodell is basically his puppet.

Harrison beat up his girlfriend but Rooney said "James was trying to do the right thing, he was trying to take his son to his baptism." Roger Puppet looked the other way.

The Steelers made Holmes inactive for 1 game, I guess that was sufficient for Roger Puppet not to take further action.

The Steelers have benefitted ridiculously in the SB from blown calls in at least 3 of their wins:

Bennie Barnes ludicrous pass interference in Super Bowl XIII. I don't know how Fred Swearingen, the referee, sleeps at night. Although he's probably dead by now.

The bogus offensive pi on Darrell Jackson in SB XL. Not to mention the ticky tack holding call on Pork Chop Womack and the fact that Big Dumb (Ben) never scored on the Steelers first td. Mike Holmgren was still chapped yesterday on the pregame and I don't blame him.

Last night, Warner was held on Harrison's td, not to mention clearly Woodley pushed Hightower to the ground from behind on the same play.

Forgive me for this long rant, but living here with these Steeler idiots is unbearable.

I believe the NFL DOES have a policy that a arrest is in there eyes as good as a convition in terms of punishment handed down by the NFL

Oh geez. It's life people. Stop crying over whose getting suspended and not getting suspended and blah, blah, blah, blah!

All those years Irvin was doing dope, and being a fool, and he got suspended exactly one time. I'm sure none of you were crying foul about how the league wasn't coming down hard enough on our resident coke user back then.

Sour grapes.

different times.. the NFL was not as hard on players in the 90's.

we have a Comish that seems to have a different set of rules for steeler players and the rest of the NFL..

ask the Bengals players, even cleaner teams like the Chiefs i forget the D line man that got 2 dui and did 45 days in jail and was suspened for half the nfl seaon apples and oranges.... from the 90's to today

what irvin was doing on the 90's is not relevent to todays game and the new set of standards that don't seem to apply to steeler players.

And last year it was the NFL has a different set of rules for the Patriots. This year it's he has a different set of rules for the Steelers. Next year it will be he's too easy on whatever team wins the Superbowl who isn't Dallas.

It's an old, played out, excuse made by fans because the Cowboys frankly suck at being a team and winning when they're supposed to.

this is 100% of nothing to do with the cowboys not winning the superbowl.

you guys twist it about that. not me...

this is about the different set of rules for others..

Pats got caught cheating but the did get punished.. by the nfl...

holmes and harrsion did not...

again a different set of rules for the steelers.

Switz is right. This has nothing to do with the Steelers winning yesterday. Some of us were saying this weeks ago.

The fact is, it's ludicrous that a multiple-time criminal like Holmes is made into a hero the way he is after Goodell's crusade to clean up the image of the league.

YES IT IS!!!! Most of these fans here in Pittsburgh don't have common sense and have their blinders on when it comes to football. On top of that, when the team is struggling they want to change the channel to something else. A lot of these people are fair weather fans in every sense of the word.

:hammer:

Yet, someone like TO gets vilified for antics that are not illegal. Something is wrong with this equation in my book.
