Saquon Barkley hints he could retire as soon as next year to go out like Barry Sanders

I will believe it when it happens but until then.......

I recently watched a TV show here in the UK and the presenter is an ex pro footballer (Gary Neville). He has another ex pro on each show and they watch career highlights of that player. The episode I watched the other day had a French player (David Ginola). Anyway......Ginola said "the person on the screen is someone else" he also said "he died the day he retired" and talked how much he missed that life.

Retiring as a pro athlete at the top is very rare, yes Sanders did it as well as another Lion (Megatron) but who else!

When it comes to it, the love of the game.....or attention / adulation is very powerful and very, very hard to let go.

I doubt Barkley walks next year.
Some really struggle walking away. They’ve played the game since they were kids so I get it. A few are at piece with it but many of those were on bad teams so that might make it easier. I respect a guy who thinks about his future. So many have nagging injuries that change their lives

And this is why many of us hate the eagles bc they were cheering for injuries and just nasty fanbase. If we are going to wish ill will on other players, how are we any better?
We're the worst fanbase when it comes for rooting for and being happy about injuries. By far. Come in here on game day threads.

I go around tonother teams boards on game day to learn about that team. I never see other Dan bases rooting for broken legs, blown ACLs, concussions, etc. It's routine in here.

I think he gets 10k rushing yards.

His rushing TDs are low though.

No KMoore, so the ground game likely suffers.

Good for us.

The good news is that if he retires we can then switch our Jaydon Blue comparisons to Saquon and ditch the present comps to Sanders.
