First Take hosts carry the same resumes as a good portion of their peers in sports talk radio, television, and print--academic lacking significant sports specific experience. In my opinion, players and coaches' commentary is more meaningful. Talking heads broadcast their opinions to the public in much the same way as some sports fans express themselves in social media. The only difference between the source opinions is one gets paid and the other does not.

Heck, some here could grab random Risen Star quotes and start threads with them. Would doing so be any less relevant than doing the same thing with a national talking head's comments? Maybe one needs to accumulate a few million viewers, listeners or readers to garner that kind of swag? Who knows? It just seems like talking heads somehow manipulate some of their audience far more than anticipated. Just rambling.

Has anyone ever seen RS and SAS at the same time?

And rightly so.
The Cowboys deserved the criticism they received because they were a mediocre franchise that didn't learn from its mistakes.
Why is a person a hater when they state the obvious?
Now that it appears the Cowboys have turned the corner (since winning is ultimate measure of whether your program is doing it right), why would not SAS as well as others praise the Cowboys for getting it right?

I never understood (I speak figuratively, of course) why fans would get so bent out of shape when a commentator criticizes their team when the team isn't doing well.

Are we supposed to find some good to say about crap when it stinks to high heaven?

I think you're arguing a different point,,, SAS is an obvious shock jock, that doesn't mean there isn't an element of truth in what he says, it means that he takes whatever truth is there and distorts it or blows it all out of proportion. Even now his so-called "compliments" are coupled with back-handed swipes at Romo.

There's not too much the guy could say after the performance Dallas put forth vs. the Saints. He dutifully ate his crow, just as he should have. He's not one to shower Dallas with credit indefinitely but at least he backed off his unrelenting criticisms for the time being. No doubt, he'll resume it in the event we lose to the Texans, though. In any case, it felt good to see him eating some humble pie to go with that helping of crow for a change.

So if we play well the media will praise us?

I guess they don't hate us after all

Another CZ myth goes down in flames

What I did not like from SAS was when he mentioned how Murray already has 99 carries and is on pace for over 400 carries. He was hinting at the likelihood of an injury.

What's wrong with pointing that out?

I think those who have their credibility at stake will cease, temporarily at least, to bombard us with criticism.

Whenever the team loses or suffers a blemish to its image, the haters will continue doing what they do best.
