Both are offensive tackles, along with Columbo are huge in Doug Free and Alex Barron; with Free at 6-6 313 and Barron at 6-8 315, with Free having experience now working with the cowboys offense last 3 years. However, Barron's athleticism is remmarkable, while playing 2nd line unit, Barron showed quickness for a huge man, while staying easily in front of our defensive ends. For instance not using his arms but keeping them at his side, Barron kept himself between the DE and Romo. Barron has terrific lateral quickness, reminding some people of a young Flozelll Adams.

Man against Man, mucho against mucho on offensive line, C Gurode hasnt been really challenged yet, while facing speed rushers like Ratliff or power rusher like Spears, Gurode didnt get beat for a sack.

Igor mostly known for his power, slipped past Kosier easily in oone play. Ware was noticed getting by Free on several occasioins but couldnt get by Barron, so Cowboys might want to substitute Barron in place of Free with quick DEs writer says.

Bower blasted Holland with a nifty swim move, but Holland recovered.

Players arent wearing pads with supposedly no hits, but the hit of the day was turned in by Barron. Going against smaller Curtis Johnson at 6-3, about 240, Barron lifted Johnson up off the ground and planted him to the ground, then pounced on top of him. So,maybe Barron is showing a different attitude then we were lead to believer.

In macho against macho 2 of the strongest linemen in Igor and McQuistain squared off against each other intent to move the other one aside, but they just moved ground grass some. So winwent to McQuistain.

Lee looks faster then he looks which is one of the trade markets of Penn ST linebackers, while Lee slipped through blocks and looking fluid in pass coverage. On one particular play Lee looked like he was on cruise speed, and kicked in a 2nd gear to arrive in time to leap up to batt a pass away intended for Te Sicko.

Dez, Ogletree, Manuel Johnson, CB McCann, Gordon and RB Lonyae Miller returned kickoffs, with only Ogletree and Miller dropping a kick return.

Sorry was away for a few days zoners, was sick, and had to go to emergency room, but im better now. So,back on schedule to give you fans some cowboys news.

Lookout NFL here comes the Dallas Cowboys.

I'm excited to hear that Barron is doing well. Gives me confidence that we've got a more-than-capable swing tackle backup.

BTW thanks Joe, sorry to hear you were in hospital...Why?

I'm a little concerned about O-Tree; he seems to be dropping a lot.

I know he dropped a punt last year too. Maybe that's just not his game.

Hope you are feeling better Cowboy Joe. :)

lawl? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

joe i too hope you are feeling better i enjoy your posts. if barron beats out free for the left tackle job then it justs proves he is better suited to play the right side. then again it will tell us that next year our first pick will have to be left tackle in the draft. i do not think that barron is the long term future at left tackle for us. i have watched barron in few games since my local channel shows alot of rams games. i think that the barron is playing for a big payday. he takes plays off from the games that i have watched from him the last four years and i think that is why the rams gave up on him. i do not blame the rams for not wanting to give him a big contract. i am rooting for free. he looks like the type of player that is not lazy. i think that free can still be a great right tackle for us if he does not make it on the left side.

I'll lawl if Alex Barron beats out Douglas Free.

I'm more interested in seeing if Barron can beat out Colombo. Colombo is getting older and I'd like a more athletic OL in the future here. I'm tired of all the roadgraders that can't get us into the end zone with 3 shots from the 1-yard line.

Glad to hear you are on the mend Joe. Also glad to hear the Cowboys turned nothing (Barbie) into maybe something (Barron).

i still think that barron is one year player for us. from what i have seen of him so far in his first three years i would not give him a big contract. i think that barron will disappoint us. i just see barron as a back up for us this year.

If nothing else, Barron could end up taking Colombo's spot as he ages.

But encouraging to hear we've got some capable linemen. We might not have to carry so many on game days, which means more WRs or DBs can dress.

I was reading one of Matt Mosley's reports.

He was in the Eagles GM's office. The Eagles GM had the Cowboys, Colts, and Saints depth charts on his wall.

Mosley noted that Free and Barron were listed as co-starters.

I thought that was interesting.

Looks like the Eags are very interested in the future cuts of those 3 teams.
