Repeatedly throughout the season Bill Parcells said that he was "saving" Julius for the stretch run. But the closer it got to the end of the regular season the less we saw him.
I think he was saving him for the playoffs.
Bill Parcells had the intention of riding Julius throughout the playoffs. Think about it, when has JJ had his best games? When he gets 20+ carries, and a lot of the times when it's a big time national spotlight game.
Look at the rushing stats for the Seattle game.
JJ: 22 carries, 112 yards, 5.1 avg, long of 35
MB3: 3 carries, 4 yards, 1.3 avg, long of 3
It was definitely not the balanced running game we had in the regular season, and it was obviously done on purpose. Parcells wanted Julius to be the workhorse in the playoffs. Problem is we didn't get that chance.
