Saving Offense for Playoffs

This is something we'd all like to believe at this point, but deep down I don't. Sure there may be a couple plays not yet on film but nothing that is going to right the ship. I hope I'm wrong.

Amari complaining about the offense tells me something is up. Not sure what that is but we don't use presnap motion or pick plays as much as we did earlier in the season.

Yeah for real, because that's not like Coop. It's beginning to eat at him.

Kellen's a sly one, I tell you!

pst.....He's saving wins for the playoffs too.......the genius.

That's like asking if Big Mike has the willpower to save any hotdogs for the 2nd half.

Not sure about saving plays, but I do think Jarwin coming back does change things a bit; hopefully in a good way.

What offense?????????????????

Although I totally don't agree with your stance on Dak, I got to admit you have a sense of humor about it.

After 25 years of hunger getting a laugh now and then is pretty much all we have left with the Jerry clown show.....

Does anyone believe we're saving plays for the playoffs?? Is this a great strategy to use or is this a only Dallas kind of thing?? This reminds me of the "vanilla" offense we are supposed to use in the pre season but end up using it in the regular season. Your thoughts please

That sounds more like a hopeful rationalization than a strategy NFL teams would employ.

LMAO....................No, we are not saving up all our good plays for the playoffs.

While I don’t think it’s their “plan” to hold back on any dramatic scale, it also wouldn’t surprise me to hear Moore has some “wrinkles” to add in the coming weeks.

I think they are trying to fix what’s broken, and its not working...... Hence the plays looks vanilla but they are things other teams use successfully , but we cant seem to get them right.

sweeps, stop routes,

The last aspect we should be looking for on Sunday is the proper use of tempo. An offense cannot always go no-huddle, and Cowboys fans should not expect that. However, when the defense is on its heels after Dak has ripped off a big play, that is when Kellen Moore needs to smell blood in the water and attack.

No more “big shift in momentum followed by a huddle and then several adjustments at the line of scrimmage” offense. The Washington game proved that the Cowboys can successfully run an up-tempo offense. Please use this weapon before the playoffs.

Maybe you are on the boat that the offensive starters need to rest, which is likely the right move. But if the offense is going to play as Mike McCarthy has stated, let’s right the ship before a likely date with the Cardinals.

I'm going to go ahead and admit that I feel like there may be at least a small amount of truth to this.

I'm not saying theyve been doing this for a month, but there's part of me that thinks the staff may have had the thought that they were already in the playoffs and Arizona was a likely opponent, so they held back a bit.

That may be ME grasping at straws for hope, I'm not sure...

But I'm not going to say it's a completely absurd notion like most have.

Kellens pre-game meeting talk : " Ok guys, we are running curl routes to the sticks ALL game. Go have fun!"

When i first heard this theory I thought it was insane.

Watching last game and seeing how ridiculous our scheme is...there may be some truth to it (i hope).

If they are, it is the dumbest strategy I have ever seen.

No, I think there may be things that they do in post season that they were reluctant to do in reg season such as using Dak more in the run game with the RPO. Outside of that you may get a designed gadget play we have not seen. Other than that is comes down to some basic execution by players, from the OL to WR and RB along with Dak.

It’s wishful thinking that they are saving the run game for the playoffs. Now I do think they are running less to save RBs. But why not run our back up. And why not run off tackle or pitch or toss plays..

You are giving this coaching staff too much credit if you believe that nonsense.

I try to look for reasons for bad play, but never, ever, do I allow myself to go into this reality of "sucking on purpose" just to not show our hand before the playoffs.

That's a theory not based in reality.
