A couple of years ago my niece, Andrea, was involved in the Arizona Junior Miss Pageant. She came in 5th.

The girl in this video clip won it all.

On stage when she did this, she was dressed a little like Pippi Longstocking meets Annie. She was far more animated and electric playing to the whole crowd. It was a mind blowing performance. As soon as she was done everyone knew who the winner was. It was obvious.

Hope you enjoy it.

That's pretty damn impressive. She's def. got some talent. I'm curious if she's written music for anything else.

My buddy Jon Gaunt was just hired by Chuck Ragan (formerly of Hot Water Music...superpunk might know em) to play the fiddle on his new solo album. Pretty cool stuff if you can get past Ragan's incredibly raw voice, and you can check it out on itunes. I like hearing the fiddle played well, especially when its played well outside of it's normal genre.

Ummm...are you thinking what I think you're thinking? You dirty old codger!
IMO, my niece Andrea is prettier. I have a picture of her that I can try and scan. She just got married about 3 months ago. She was 17 for that pageant and played Chopin, Sonata in D Minor for her talent.

I just remember thinking that this little girl had unreal talent and I wondered how she would do in the pageant for all 50 states. I never did hear how that went.

Andrea said she was the nicest girl in the pageant. In fact she won that vote by the girls themselves. Another area of competition for them was dance and this little girl was head and shoulders above them all. They had to do required elements and she had springs for legs. When they had to jump with legs outstretched and reach towards their toes most girls barely came off the gorund and half heartedly reached for their toes. This girl was airborn like David Lee Roth and touched her toes and landed gracefully. In fact, I remember thinking that Andrea lost because she was so far outclassed by several girls for that discipline.

That is wicked cool. I love Hot Water Music, but I don't know if Ragan was their vocalist, too? I have aa heck of a time locating their music, but I heard "With Planet" one day and was enthralled.

Yeah, Ragan and Chris Wallard are the vocalists in Hot Water Music. I don't have a copy of Ragan's new album yet, but I got to see my friend play his first show with him down in Gainsville, Fla a while ago. It's a live album, so I might just wait for the LP to come out.

On a side note...Ragan's stoked on life these days, his voice sounds the same as it did with HWM, but the desperation isn't as obvious. Just got done watching his new video on gheyspace, and his new wife and kid might have something to do with that. It appears he's come along way since the first time I saw him play....he was so bloody drunk he fell off the back of the stage and stayed there for about five minutes biefore he could drag himself back to his brew.

Sorry for the hijack Hos.
