With a terrible offense. That's the point. But hey you win.

But before I game all I heard was how Cousins was going to shred us and we needed over 30 points to win. Same thing was said before the Giants game and neither game anything like that happened

Well,I didn't say it either week. But I did watch the games, if Cousins wasn't so off on some of his passes we would have had to score around 14 more points today. The Giant's offense isn't that great either so far this year. I barley see a serviceable defense out there. Hopefully the druggies get back and help.

Defense needs to be better but 1 or 2 plays can be said on both teams. Cousins didn't win and we did.

Giants have a decent offense. Top 10 potential. Eli has thrown for over 500 plus yards in 2 games.

That's not fair to call D Law a druggie, he didn't fail for weed or something and has no history. Gregory I agree. Hopefully both can come back and help. We have to be better no doubt. We won today and I take ugly wins......a W is a W. Don't care how we get as long as we don't cheat

Our defense isn't very good period. Garrett giving Washington a short field didn't help but they still aren't very good.

Garrett giving them a short field is the coach to win philosophy everyone is crying that coach lacks. It was a bad kick but great idea.

the defense is really bad, you'll really see it Oct. 16 and Nov. 13, fortunately for them there aren't many juggernaut QBs on the schedule. They're atrocious in the run game too.

We had Cousins miss a ton of golden opportunities today and manning well was just Eli last week. Things don't get fixed we are going to have to score over 30 every game just to be in it.

Sadly this! The D was very and I mean very fortunate Cousins was off today. Could have been very ugly if he had hit even half the wide open guys he missed.

I mean I'm glad they won, and the defense came up with a couple big plays when it mattered which is great, but if Kirk Cousins doesn't Kirk Cousin then the Skins score about 35 points off those wide open receivers he just wildly overthrew and the game isn't even close.

This defense is really bad. I shudder to think what Rodgers is going to do to it. I just hope getting Gregory and Lawrence back makes for at least some pressure and Dak keeps getting more and more comfortable.

I love this team, but a spade is a spade, and this defense is going to cost them a lot of games this year.

Correct. It's the typical goal post moving after it actually turns that we don't need to score 30 points every game to win.

Now I'm sure Jay Cutler will just eviscerate the D in Week 3. But if he doesn't we just got lucky.

Check my post history - I am hardly a debbie downer.

But Dallas' defense looks really bad imo. Cousins was the MVP of our defense today. Cousins basically missed touchdown throws on almost every possession the Commanders had.

Our players play hard. They just aren't that good.

If we had played a top 10 QB today, I think Commanders win going away.

I think the best case scenario for our defense this year is to stay injury free, have some of our young guys get better throughout the year and get our two starting DEs back and playing well. "IF" all these things happen I could see our defense being maybe 2014 level - basically playing "good enough."

But today's performance wasn't there. Yet.

I wish we just had more talent. :/

That's false. Out defense had interception and multiple stops. Cousins or any other QB wasn't throwing TDs every drive.

Agreed and it's been posted on these forums. Cousins missed wide open receivers. A decent qb would have torched us. Glad it's not the case, but is what it is. Defensive scheme and offense scheme are both outdated. We are running 20 year old systems here.

True but there were at least three plays where the Washington wr was running free and was missed by cousins poor throws. You can't discount that.

I think its just talent. We don't have ANY talent on our DLine. And we have only ONE decent LBacker. McClain is our best DLiner, and he would be probably the 4th or 5th best DLineman on a great defense. Hitchens disappeared after his rookie year. And the rest of the linebackers are really just not any good.

The secondary loses confidence because they get torched because of no pressure. So our average secondary has no chance to get "attitude."

Just not good right now.

I do agree is a problem. I think the secondary is a good unit but the front seven needs talent.

It does. So I'm not saying it's just us. I have direct tv nfl package and watch nfl constantly. But those wideouts were getting way above average separation and cousins didn't do what he's paid to.

Our defense lacks talent. Especially with Lawrence (and Gregory) out on the DL. And say what you want about Purple Drank, but he was a player.

We knew this going into the season, though. This is why drafting a RB and not solidifying the defense this season with that #4 and #34 for this season was a mistake.

And some throws Dak missed on wide open guys. Or Zeke almost taking it to the house. Winning comes down to a couple plays most of the time. We made the plays to win and Washington didn't. Give our team credit not discredit them

They played well enough to win last week and the offense didn't and they were a huge part of why we won today. But yes complain like most of you do with the situational footba blah blah.

After two games we are 19th in yards, 11th in points allowed,9th in sacks, 4th in INTs, 12th in PDef. That is all.

We will be ok, good enough to win. 2 More games until the Calvary shows up.
