Mens, womans, contractors, cubicle denizens, parolees, people of interest and holy men:
We hear it ever where we go now: Dallas, with the worst defense in the NFL . . .
Yes.
However, and without dwelting too much on injuries, Kiffie awoke ever day this season knowing he'd half to plug in a new guy in the line or among the linebackers. Or knowing his secondary was more worthless than a Lone Star Card in Idaho, home of great potatos.
He went through 15 or so defensive linemens this season? He lost his top linebacker to injury and his faux linebacker Carter to stupidity. he inherated Ware who suddenly rushed the QB like he was Fred Sanford. And on an on.
Lookie here: I am a proud admirer of our defense.
They played with heart and dignity. The mens who were plugged in exceeded my expectations because in many cases they were sitting at home watching Judge Judy and considering careers as medical receptionists and trucker driver dispatchers before Kiffie called them up.
That goal line stand agin the Eagles. How can I write this without being too Mauldin? I half never been prouder of a defensive unit than after that play. I stood up, unsteadily, it was said, and toasted them. Then my annoying neighbor joined me. We hugged and called each other "big lug" because we are not mens of big vocabalaries. Then we toasted them agin.
For all mein life, mens and womans, I will remember that goal line stand. As I make my way this winter to the soup kitchen or to the bowling alley or to the Woodmens of the World meetings, I will carry a thing for this defense on my sleeve.
When your kid swings and misses, when your kid messes up the Beethoven 5th, we still say, "Good job and we means it."
Now I say to our defense, "Good job" and ah means it.From the bottom of my small heart I salute this defensive team of underachievers who rose to the occasion and gave it their best. Their best. Sometimes pro players don't. This year, this D gave it their all for us.

As usual, being so eloquent and stuff I feel dizzy and will lay on the carpet.
Pls gimme your plaudits to this defensive team who always gave its all to us.
