Jacksonville's WRs that nobody seemed to think were very good pretty much smoked us today.

The thing about em is that they are so tall.

Our defenders were there it's just sometimes when you are 5'10 or 5'11 you can't cover someone that's 6-5

Leftwich was threading the needle and had a fair amount of time to throw most of the game. I dont think our DB's played that bad...

Where was our QB pressure? Thought Ware & Ellis was supposed to provide that. While both did provide pressure on occasion, it was very inconsistent. We got 1 sack and that was by Ratliff.

Or that defense that everyone has heard of on this board, did not perform.

Still no pass rush. Have not had one since Haley was a Cowboy.

I am quite sure Zimmer is a joke, but at some point the players have to make plays.

You can blame it on the defense if you wish but according to many, many, on this board, the Jags WRs were crap. Well, somebody caught those passes regardless of how our defense played.

Second half...zero pass rush.

That helped their WR's.

Ya know, year after year it's the same thing with this team...No pass rush...inability to force turn overs.

Well, Bledsoe forces turnovers but that's a different story.

The entire team played like ****! Defense, Offense, and the ONLY highlight on STs was the 62 yard punt by McBriar. This team's going to to the Super Bowl my ***. What a ******* joke!

Well said.

Our DB's are ok. Nothing really special there but ok. But with vanialla D by Zimmhhhuuu (as alwyas), far too conservative play calling on offense and a QB that still was on the plane when the game started you don't win games.

No pass rush also helped. But sometimes you can be there in perfect coverage but when their WRs are 6-5 and ours are 5-9 there's not much you can do about it.

I just wish the Zimmer from 2003 would come back. Why is he so conservative with so much talent.

Good Gosh...in 2003, you do all out blitzes and make Roy hell on wheels with a rookie corner and Mario Edwards but in 2006, with Newman, Henry, Glenn to name a few in the secondary you just play soft gushy coverages.

I feel like Derrick Beckles :D .

I wasn't sure about Matt Jones...But he tore us a new a-hole today.

P.S. Our pass rush sucked...AGAIN!

Why does Parcells continually get a free pass on this subject? It is his defense, he forced it on Zimmer.

Doesn't he get knocked for vanilla schemes? He has said himself that they don't do a lot of stunts/etc.

He claims he sticks his nose in everything. If the defense is that conservative, it has to reflect on Parcells as much as Zimmer.

Well the buck eventually stops with Parcells but..

Mike Zimmer wears the hat of Defensive Coordinator, so I think it is logical to criticize him.

I know I have a Parcells obsession...but if ya ask me, the entire team plays to avoid mistakes...well except the QB....and that is Parcells football.

Roy hasn't been the same player since his rookie season. That's just a fact. He had an impact play EVERY game back then.

Not so any longer.

I have to disagree with you. He was a monster last year...I cant count how many solid tackles and forced fumbles the guy had. There was a good article about Williams written in the DMN and it put Roy up against the best Safeties in the league and he was strong.

He even had an interception today.

And also, in that article Roy talked about being disappointed that he doesnt get to move around alot like Troy P. but understood that is not how our defense is here in dallas.

His impact is strong and he doesnt get unleashed like some of the other safeties in the league.

The sad part about today was that Bledsoe threw at least 2 interceptions and was not under any pressure.

You can disagree. We always do. :)

Last year he spent the entire season doing his new tackle...the dive at the feet tackle.

The int wasn't what I'd call an impact play. The ball was thrown to him. I am talking about plays where he dominates.

And you are making my point for me. Yes, in this defense he doesn't move around a lot...and his ability to provide impact is minimized.

Henry got smoked today and TNew gave up more than his usual receptions also.
