Scab Tryouts

The largest unions in the US are teachers, food workers, and service employees. Overwhelmingly, unions are comprised of either white collar workers or service employees. The whole "union thug" stereotype reflects perceptions of unions that no longer dominate the union landscape. But hey, let's hang on to old, outdated ideas about unions.

So it is OK to refer to workers as scabs if not represented by a union but not union thugs?
Hmmm

I was just reading about the 1987 strike and replacement players and found out Sean Payton was the QB for the replacement Bears. And who can forget the Dorsett-Randy White feud? White almost ran him over with his truck because TD was blocking his entry to the stadium.

Hmmm

A scab is anyone who crosses a picket line (or otherwise works when a union is striking) -- the difference here is that the "union thug" conjures images of a teamster who is out to break someone's knees - when more accurately it is a 40-something year old school teacher.
