Unless we stumble I would say we (WVU) wins the big east going away.

But we have been known to stumble so who knows.

I don't really consider this issue as much of a scandal as is the overall influence that ESPN is likely to have going forward. Fact is ESPN is a major player in college sports and now that they have deals with certain conferences, they have a reason to promote some teams over others (nothing Disney likes more than their incessant cross promotion).

It is a complete loss of any journalistic integrity they may have been desperately clinging to.

Don't know about the academics but let's be honest...these Conferences talk about that like that is their number one priority but we all know that to be bunk...if they really wanted the best academics we would see them sending out invites to teams from the Ivy League. :laugh2:
I don't know how true it is, but I heard that the Big Ten gets more in grants due to their academics than they do in football. May be an exaggeration, but there's likely some truth to it.

I think it is contingent on one or the other taking Boise State and Boise is much more likely Big 12 candidate (if not Pac 12 in due time).

Boise's only chance to get to an aq conference is the big 12. The pac 12 wants nothing to do with BSU. Outside of football, they add nothing to them.

The Big 12 doesn't want Boise either. They don't like their location, their academics or their recent "concerns" that have caused the NCAA to look their way. Unless BYU decides to join, the Big 12 is looking at stopping with TCU. If Mizzou leaves, then Louisville would be their top replacement.

Honestly, the best shot Boise has right now with the Big East as a football only. It would help Boise get their automatic AQ bid and cement the Big East keeping theirs.

Win-Win.

Get on w/ your bad self. That is a great summarization as to WHY BSU will not and should NOT be extended an invite to the Big12.

Not sure why it would be considered a scandal.

Because SCANDALOUS is fun to say :D .. Say it .. add extended emphasis on the "AN" part ... see? :D
