taken from Peter Kings column this AM

f. Two years ago, before he got hurt and began to decline, Leigh Bodden was pumped up by Football Outsiders before people knew he was good. This year, the cornerbacks to watch are William Gay of Pittsburgh and Orlando Scandrick of Dallas. Gay led the league in Adjusted Yards Allowed per Pass among corners with at least 40 passes attempted against them. Scandrick was 17th, but more important, played better as a fifth-round pick than fellow rookie Michael Jenkins did as a first-round pick.

Leigh Bodden?

The same Leigh Bodden who crashed and burned in Detroit and ended up on the Patriots' doorstep this year?

Are you saying Scandrick will play for the Patriots soon? :laugh2:

You can't take stats created in a vacuum and apply them but in this case Scandrick has been outstanding and noted as so by all measurable means including the opinion of scouts.

To say we hit on him would be a pretty big understatement.

For a time he was looked at as a breakout CB. I remember him doing pretty well against Chad Johnson when he was tearing up everyone.

Bodden was superb for a couple of years in Cleveland and they didn't have much of a pass rush. He then injured his knee and really cannot run well anymore. But at one point for a good stretch, he was a fantastic corner.
