The Cowboys had until 3 p.m. Saturday to add Scandrick to their 53-man roster and remove him from the reserve/suspended list. That deadline has passed. And with no deal finalized, Scandrick won’t be able to play against the Titans. He was still in his home state of California on Saturday and didn’t travel with the team to Nashville, Tenn.

You're right, but it's not unheard of for a player to say they've "been working hard" then they come back out of shape.

A player working out on their own isn't enough to prepare them to play in a game. He'll be in shape but he needs a week of practice to get back in the swing of things. There's only so much a player can do on their own there's going to be a little rust he'll have to work off. It's been over 2 weeks since he's been with the team.

The deal is not final so he is still suspended. It has nothing to do with him not being ready.

Thank you Brain. Our first victory of the season, maybe its a sign of things to come for us this weekend as well. Btw, I too am part of the brotherhood of the beard.

He is still suspended and is not allowed to be with the team or at team facility. He can be in Dallas but if he is not playing then might as well stay home and continue to work with his trainer. Having said that, I bet he is ready to fly out when they make the call.
