I think is better on the outside like Jenkins. I think we should try newman back to the slot because scandrick looked like he belonged playing on the outside.

i agree lets give him a shot see what he has out there. this has been said over and over in other threads but the rest of this season should be a audition for next years roster but more immediatley to set up the offseason free agency/draft season.

I agree also, but with his awful ball skills, he's going to be covering team's number 1's out there. That could be real bad news.

As an every down player though, I really like what he brings against the run. He's very aggressive and can actually make a tackle, almost reminds me of Antoine Winfield.

I don't think Scandrick is a game breaker on the outside but I do think he might be better there than in the inside. I also think Newman will be out best slot CB. I've heard them say he's still the quickest of our DBs.

It's more complicated than that, I think. Scandrick is a very odd duck, statistically - since his rookie season, he's performed very well against average or worse receivers, and god-awful horribly against good competition.

The problem is that teams started realizing this and sending better receivers and #1s against him in bigger sets.

He's going to get picked on no matter where you play him. I don't know that he's more natural on the outside.

I would be fine with that, but we also have to remember that Garrett is also auditioning for the head coaching position for next year, so winning now will be what Garrett tries to achieve.

A lot of teams put their number 1 receiver in the slot anyway. We do with Miles. It creates an advantage for the receiver since they have more space to work with than being on the outside.

I'd much rather they just find someone else who can completely take Scandrick off the field.

Newman has too many injury issues to go back to the slot at this stage of his career. The Cowboys have just got to play more zone when the nickel is out there and get better coverage players at ILB and S.

Adding an upper echelon 3-4 DE who can be a good pass rusher in the nickel 4-man front would help, too. I don't know if Fairley, Dareus or Bowers could do that for us but I would have them on our radar if we end up with a top-10 pick.

That would likely be the best route, at this point.
