Large Marge scene in Pee Wee Big Adventure scared the poop out of me as a kid. Still kinda creepy if I'm being honest

From the old school daysz memories - The Creature from the Black Lagoon,....War of the Garguantuas... Gargoyles and The Pit and the Pendulum
used to creep me out as a young kid

I thought for sure that there would be a re-boot of Creature from Black Lagoon in this day and age of horror special effects ..

Creature from the Black Lagoon still looks awesome. Might be the best looking of all the universal movie monsters.

Gargoyles was a bit of scary movie back in the day. I have not watched it since I was a youth. I do not know if it holds up at all now.

Lastly...The freaking flying monkeys in the wizard of oz freaked me out as a kid.

As a kid The Crawling Eye was scary as heck. As an adult it is stupid! LOL. But as an adult, Alien was about as scary as it gets for me. Jaw wasn;t scary because it you weren't in or on the water you had nothing to worry about. Alien could get you anywhere.

I saw "Jaws" in the theater when I was 12 yrs old, didn't think it was scary, but then our family went to the coast the following weekend.

I saw it when I was 7. I didn't get in the ocean until I was 45.
We didn't go to the coast often so I wasn't about to let that movie keep me out of the water......lol. I started walking into the water and I could hear that stupid music in my head, I made to about knee-thigh level and that was far enough. I was OK for a little while, but I was on high alert, head on a swivel, then something touched my leg. I jumped, let out a little yelp and forced myself to stay, saying it was just some seaweed and then it happened again and nope, just nope, that's enough of the water.

I do remember seeing quite a few other people in the water that looked like I must have looked, not in very deep and constantly looking around them, looking real nervous. I noticed a few other in deeper water splashing around having fun and thought, they musta not seen the movie.....

the floating, eyeball-less head ( Ben Gardner) that Matt Hooper shook loose from the crack in the boat, trying to retrieve a shark tooth. ...
That scare- shook me up so badly .., i didn't sleep for the next two days.

Jaws ... Dawn of the Dead (1978) .. The Exorcist ....City of the Living Dead (aka Gates of Hell) ..and It's Alive were only one that freaked me that greatly
in my young kiddo days.
