Scary Realization When Jersey Shopping

I was looking to expand my jersey collection and since the jerseys are $150 I would prefer a "long term" investment, meaning buying a jersey for a player who will be a Cowboy for years to come. Since I don't want to spend $325 for a custom Zach Martin or Travis Frederick jersey, I had a scary realization: There is a chance that in 2 seasons, not a single player who has a jersey for sale for the Cowboys will still be on the team. Witten will likely have retired, we all know the narrative on Dez, etc, and then there's Dak and Zeke. I know that it is highly likely Zeke will be a Cowboy for years to come, but for differing reasons there is a larger chance than most of us would care to admit that neither Dak or Zeke get new contracts beyond their rookie deals if they don't really improve next year. My gut tells me both will have tremendous seasons next year, but this is just a disconcerting thought, especially after having stalwarts like Witten and Romo (and even Dez) for so long.

That’s the nfl
Only the best of super stars stay with one team for most of their career
I think next year will tell you if a Dak Jersey is a safe investment or not
Zeke wil be here 5 yrs and move on
Maybe gamble on the kids in the secondary

Buy a Jeff Heath jersey. Should be like $8.

I've always liked jerseys, despite being an old man now, but I've kind of stopped buying them since players don't seem to stick around. I just buy the $25 T-shirt that look like jerseys now if there's a player I really like. Or I track down a former player's jersey. I recently found a Darren Woodson Nike jersey and I'm looking for a Herschel Walker one.

Get a Garrett one he ain't going nowhere regardless of how much he sucks....
You shut your mouth.

If I truly believed that, I'd have to quit this team.

To be fair, they don't have Sean Lee, Demarcus Lawrence, Tyron, Martin, or Frederick jerseys for sale. My point is that I can't remember the last time their wasn't a retail jersey for sale for someone you KNEW beyond a shadow of a doubt would be on the team for the next many seasons. I know "that's the NFL" but every team has at least 1 or 2 stalwarts that will be career players for that team.

This. T-shirt jerseys are the way to go...if the player doesn't play for the team anymore then you have a shirt you can wear for workouts/laundry day/etc. I haven't bought a real jersey in like 10 years!

Get a Smith or Jones jersey. It seems we always have one of them on the team.

I have started getting jersey's of guys AFTER they retire or throw backs. Wasted too much $ on Julius Jones, Roy Williams the safety and others that were flash in the pans. As far as $$, Honestly- why would I spend 150 on a Jersey made in a the same foreign sweat shop that the $40 dollar bootleg jersey's are made?? For America's favorite sport, it sickens me that every thing they sell, is not made here. That is a lot more of a problem for me then if they stand or kneel or lay down during the anthem.
