Dallas trades up to 8# to secure Donald. Detroit won't give up a 3rd and 4th to get a 2nd. Minni likes the
trade because they will still get a QB either being Bortles or Manziel. Dallas gives a 2nd and gets a 4th.

1st (8) Donald Aaron DT Pitt- well worth the trade. Will be a Superstar at the 3T
3rd (78) Marcus Smith DE Lou- most productive rusher per game. 14.5 sacks. Great Value here. Billy Turner has jumped into the 2nd. Too early for Trai Turner.
4th (108) Brandon Thomas OG/OT Clemson - great pick up because of injury. pro bowl caliber OG and flex to swing at OT.
4th (119) Jack Mewhort OT Ohio- All the talent to be a RT. OL flex. RKG. Nice value here.
5th (158) Jerick Mckinnon RB - needs a year of seasoning at the position but has tremendous upside and the right work ethic to make the transition and be an everydown back.
7th (229) Davon Coleman-AZ state. D1T/DE like this guy even in the 5th but hopefully he is still around.
7th (231) Henry Josey Miss RB
7th (238) Chris Whaley DT Texas - converted RB to DT. Still gaining weight and experience: 6'3 270. 1 Gap
7th (248) Taylor Gabriel Alibene Christian WR/KR/PR - Speedster
7th Marion Grice RB AZ
7th Chris Park CB SMU

Wouldnt trade more than a couple of 7th in this draft to move up, if any moving down is the right choice.

7th's are worthless....they're worth like 2 points on the trade scale.

Exactly, Donald isn't worth giving up another top 50 pick when we need more players. Getting Donald would be great but he's gonna go higher than you expect like Cooper and Warmack a year ago.

Melton's game, he avg at best vs the run. Anybody really think Donald is going to handle a double team un the NFL playing the 1tech? Trading up to get Donald and losing a RD2 pick would be devastating.

This team isnt going to play Melton at the 1. Donald couldnt handle the 1 either. So they would trade up to play Donald on 3rd down?

I could see them drafting him at 16 but it would be beyond stupid to trade up for him. Crichton would be a great pick in RD2 if Donald reached 16.

I really like the Donald/Crichton combo....slightly better than your Donald/Easley combo just because of the fact you are getting two high motor players with Donald and Crichton...Easley just is too hit and miss for me. I wouldn't hate the combo....ultimately my preference is to get either Donald or Barr at 16....would prefer to keep all our picks.

If Mack falls, then I can consider trading into the top 10, otherwise, let's hang on to our picks...now, that being said, since your mock has it happening:

* I certainly like Donald on the team; regardless of melton (who is still a questionmark), I think he will ensure that we bring pressure from the interior on every down (with melton included)
* I like Marcus Smith, but the Smith that I really like in the 3rd is Chris Smith from Arkansas...talk about a motor
* I think the secret on drafting Thomas is out (to stash him), so I an see him going in the 3rd
* Mewhort OK, but again, I see him going earlier than that pick
* McKinnon is fast, fast, fast...but I am not sure he is an every-down back...I like the pick though

I may have gone with a little more D, although your first two picks are DL...one LB at least

I'm against trading a very valuable second for an under-sized defensive lineman.

Given the strengths of the draft and the depth in the second round, I would not want to trade up for Donald. Personal preference I suppose.

What we are seeing there at 16 (your choice of safety and no much else) makes me think we are trading down like last year.

If Melton and Donald split snaps in the base and both play in the Nickel, they would each get 67% of the snaps if the team is in Nickel 1/3rd of the time.

This is not my preference in trading up but simply scenario 3. This is probable if they are not getting value in a trade back and expect their targets to begone: Barr, Donald or Martin.

I'm a huge fan of Donald and wouldn't mind spending a 4th to move up enough to get him. But a 2nd? No way! Not even a 3rd IMO is worth it although I feel Donald will be a superstar in the right defense. We have to build our defense up from almost scratch. Hard to do that giving up valuable/high draft picks.

Pat Kirwan and Will Brinson at CBSsports.com have Dallas trading up to Minnesota's pick for Aaron Donald, which I think is plausible. I'm fine with it, but certainly not for a second and preferably not a third.

But if the guy becomes a star, we won't care down the road.

Ok you trade up and lose a player in round 2 to get 1 player who is going to play 67% of the defense snaps?

I didn't say I would trade up.

In a good DL rotation, you don't want a player too much over 67%.
