First off if it plays like most think

We stay at 22 and trade down at 28, if we do that I want the CB first if Talib or Jenkins fall there and get the RB after we trade down at 28...

Ok heres my scenario

We susposedly have 23 guys we rate as first round players... lets say the guys that are availabe don't fit any of our needs and we just really have no place for them, like a TE

Why not trade the 22nd pick? I'm not hearing that as a possibility and I don't understand why not. It would have more value and allow the 2nd round teams to possibly compete a little for jumping up and grabbing that QB, I also don't think we'd have as much competition from other teams willing to trade down in front of our 28th pick...

Remember this is dependent on your guys not being there at 22.

Does that make sense to anyone?

I think most so called experts believe Jerry will take a RB or CB at 22. That is why all the talk about trading down centers around pick 28.

I bet we trade#22 to Miami for their 2 2rders.

Then @ 22 they draft Chad Henne.

Makes perfect sense to me. If we are set on taking Jones, then it is smarter to trade 22 for higher picks in the 2nd or future picks. Honestly, I have not heard any other team interested in Jones in the first round so I doubt anybody is going to take him before 28. I know I would not. If you trade 22, then you get better value and you take Jones at a spot where you have to spend less cap on him. That would be the smarter way to go IMO.

I think it's certainly a possibility. There's no reason to stay at 22 and take a second-round RB, or reach for the sixth-best corner, etc.

Let the flow of the draft dictate the decision.

But, let's not get too cute, either. If Steven Ja....err, Rashard Mendenhall falls to us, and we have an obvious need at his position, just take the man. Don't trade down and settle for Ju...err, Jamaal Charles.

No because we have 21 players with first round grades, not 23.

Do the Cowboys have 21 players rated with first round grades or are you talking about GOOSE having 21 players rated with first round grades?

That makes my scenario even more feasible.
