Nope, I just want Barber off this team. Dude is a liability on our offense.

I don't see how you can really know that yet. He was never the same after the injury. You and I as fans can only truly say he was not as effective post injury.

I dont think it's coincidence that his HANDS-DOWN best performance of the year was the only game he was at 100%.

His next closest was 25 yards off.

And with the team needing to get the ball to Choice and Jones the ball more, and the fact that Dallas isn't a run first team like the Jets means he won't get anywhere near 2400 yards over a two year span here in Dallas.

Ya, no ****. He's better than Barber though. We can disagree on that, so I will digress so we don't argue for the next 15 min.

man, once a player lands on a "gotta go" list for some they'll ditch them at every opportunity.

This regime has shown it can draft talent at running back.. Why spend time and money on a old back that barring injuries might get at most 5 touches a game.. Spend a 4th on another back if they trade barber or they feel barber is expendable...

He isnt a liability when he's healthy. Unfortunately that hasnt been much the past two seasons.

But if I were running the team, I admit I would release Barber now (mainly because I think Choice is just as good, if not better and doesnt cost as much, plus he's several years younger)

I haven't looked at this contract particulars (maybe Adam has?) but I would be looking for a "window" to get out from under what is obviously a bad deal for the team.

I think Choice could capably fill the role as well and another back could be drafted to fill the #3 role.

That said, just because I'm somewhat "down" on Barber doesn't mean I'd chase after Thomas Jones.

In my book, he's an average tailback who benefitted from running behind one of the best run-blocking lines in the league. And it was obvious to anyone watching that Shonn Greene was even more productive running behind that same line.

Hence the reason for Jones' departure.

Yeah I agree, I see absolutely zero reason to dump Barber to replace him with another aged RB on the downside. No matter what his cost is.

If we dump Barber, we'd be better off drafting a 3rd RB and letting Jones/Choice get most of the carries.

This is not even a position of need. If we got rid of Barber fine, but place the $ elsewhere.
