If Lance plays today it will be Jerry’s call. MM’s system is made for Dak/Rush not a running quarterback. I believe Jerry made the trade for Lance to let everyone know that he was in charge of the Cowboys. Not Stephen or Will who at the time was getting credit for the Cowboys success with draft picks. The sad thing is we have not seen nothing yet.

Cooper is the better quarterback right now and probably for the foreseeable future, had our record been different and dak potentially coming back, then rush would be a perfect bridge.

However, the seasons over- and where lance may lack the throwing prowess or decision making of rush, he has the ability to change the game with his ability to run and extend plays. Play him and see what if anything that he has. It’s a lost year, play lance as much as possible and he should start.

He likely will be the starter in 3 weeks anyway when we are 3-8 but I’d be fine accelerating that process

Redzone and goal line situations would be an effective way to use Lance. Being a running threat would put the defense on their heels some.
