School can't call team Cougars because it offends some women

Change to to the Pumas. Leopards, Mountain Lions, Lynx...

Or JUST CALL THEM THE COUGARS. HOLY TOLEDO we are soft in America!

I live in Utah...and that lady is probably some fat fugly woman that wishes she could pick up some young stud, hence why she does not like the name cougar.

Actually, a puma is a younger cougar.

Cougars are over 40, Pumas are in their 30s.

hey - who's fighting for the rights of the REAL cougars to not have old women ruin their prideful name in their lustful searches?

that said - it's butt-nugget stupid to alter established history for a fad.

What is particularly ignorant about this is that this HS is apparently in Utah. They probably selected the mascot because of the fact that the BYU COUGARS are in Provo. I don't know how that could possibly offend anybody but I guess it does.

If that's the case then I guess its a good thing this High School is not close to Oregon State.

If Butte High School can call themselves the Pirates, then by all means, this school should be able to use the term Cougars.

BTW, I am still upset, and will be until I die, that Syracuse caved on their name. They will forever be the Orangemen to me. San Antonio Sam Houston High School will forever be the Cherokees to me, though they changed it to Hurricanes.....Sam Houston was an honorary Cherokee, the name was an honor and these politically correct idiots are actually politically incorrect.

And the one name they should change, they keep.....the flippin Commanders.

I wish Oregon St would play South Carolina every year in football.....in a game sponsored by Trojan condoms.....

This is literally one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Maybe even more ridiculous than the quote in my sig. :laugh2:

Super markets in some parts of Utah also cover Cosmopolitan women's magazine with black plastic, leaving only the title of the magazine exposed. Kinda like we do with porn mags in convenience stores.

Let that into consideration. Ewww-tah is its own ******** world, a quote from a good friend who moved back from there two years ago.

I traveled there for a few summers in jr high for a sports camp. Utah had a vibe I couldn't explain until a buddy described it as "sterile". That pretty much nails it.

Oh, and a child molester tried to give me a ride in Provo, once, as well.

The whole state is looked upon suspiciously by practically everyone else in the U.S. And most of the folks don't even know a fraction of the bizarro stuff that goes on down there and gets covered up.

Park City is a awesome but even there you still have to deal with the goofy laws.

Try Berkely for truly bizarre. Compared to that Utah is normal.

I love cougars as much as the next 23 yr old guy...but this is absolutely ridiculous.
