Yep, that was a horrible move. And we are really stuck with him for this year and next now. Only way out realistically is a trade....but how many teams would take his salary which is guaranteed for a player that probably wouldn't start?

Yea, the 9mil guaranteed for next year is a kick to the nads.
He's going to be an expensive backup RT for us in 27

They traded a 3rd for a 4th and 6....they really didn't trade anything lol.

Still seems like not much of anything to some. But I am still not sure I like it. But I will trust they know what they are doing on this.

Just need to wait and see.
I think they gave up a bit too much for Q. Williams as well. But he had an immediate impact on the run defesne. Now has a full off season with the team.

Malik Hooker’s restructuring. I feel they should have released him and moved on. Not worth his salary.

And obviously the $2 million they paid Sam Williams.

I was surprised Sam’s was guaranteed. Like if somebody else was going to give guaranteed money. Ok. They can have him lol

Clearly he passed his physical. And he played all three preseason games for the Steelers so the issue is apparently behind him.

Matt Hennessy (Center-FA) also passed his physical.

But his neck issue (herniated disc) wasn't as concerning as Jones' spinal fusion surgery.

Jones admitted during training camp that he lost muscle mass and upper body strength that affected his mechanics.

With less than two weeks until the start of the season, how is he supposed to be at full strength and mobility?

These are just some of the reasons why I don't believe his issues are behind him.

Hoping Steele can hold his own until Jones gets back 100 percent. I think he said yesterday that he's about "85 percent" back to where he was physically. So he's getting there. At least he's well enough to play.

The more interesting part of this may be that Shelton was handed the backup LT job. Is there really a chance that if Guyton were to go down week 1 that they put Shelton in to protect Dak? I wonder if the real plan until Shelton is ready is to move Tyler 73 out to LT and play Bass at LG in an emergency. I know they won't say it and they didn't play him there this preseason but he played it last year and I'm not sure they are going to run Shelton out there just yet.
