Ray, this board already hates the pick before it even happens lolI agree with the thought process of this entire thread Topic. I'm the same. I'm willing to be optimistic until we see differently. Right now he's saying what we all been thinking for decades. Meaning, Shotty is actually speaking openly about the culture issues and it's really a big change if you stop and think about it. First step in fixing something is laying it out on the table , willing to correct it. This draft will tell us exactly what the plan is. The tone must be set tonight with our first pick. It's meaningful. It will define Shotty going forward.
Lol Garrett constantly preached high character guys who loved football. This pick is no better than Garrett, might be even worse. Garrett had interest as HC for other teams when he was OC, schottenheimer hasntI’m not going to lie, I’ve been so jaded by the disappointments of the last 25 years that I usually throw shade at Jerry every chance I get. I was very upset when we hired Schotty. Like really upset. Dave Campo upset. I felt it was Dave Campo 2.0. And it still might be. But on the eve of the draft the Schotty hire is starting to grow on me. I like the talk of improving the culture. I’ve been a stickler on that for years. And even if it’s “just talk” the fact the organization is even acknowledging it is a good thing. IMHO the acknowledgment of a culture problem is a huge step forward for this franchise. Now it can be debated if it can be fixed or not but I feel a step in the right direction has been made. For that reason the Schotty hire is growing on me.
I’m looking forward to preseason for other baby steps but the hire is growing on me as of today. Hopefully tomorrow is a good day for us with the draft.
Sadly, it seems so. We fans need to learn how to be happy again when we do something good.Ray, this board already hates the pick before it even happens lol
Much agreed my friend. You can pretty much copy and pasteSadly, it seems so. We fans need to learn how to be happy again when we do something good.
So basically you didn’t have the guts to call this a Dak hate thread you had to disguise it by bringing this fake long for Shotty who hasn’t even coached a game yet.I’ve been pretty lukewarm on everything Cowboys since they have decided to back up the Brinks truck for Dak. Can’t remember being this negative about the Cowboys ever. But the more that I look at the Schotty hire, the more I wonder if he might have actually been a really solid hire.
Dak sucks. Actually Dak sucks really bad. But if Schotty builds a running attack like his dad did, then Dak can pretty much just hand off the ball, looks stupid, collect his checks, smoke cigarettes on the sidelines and talk about all the wins in which he wasn’t really a factor.
It’s nothing against him. He was a bad hire. He was a comforts me hire for Jerry. That’s where a lot of frustration comes from. They didn’t even have a legit coaching search and it bothers me they felt bringing the same coaching back to repeat the same “success” was smart.I see a lot of posts dumping on Schotty, but I say give the man some time to show what he's got...as HEAD COACH, with his own staff and philosophy.
That post wasn’t optimistic at all lol.Goodness man. OP being killed and thrown to the wolves for having a little hope and optimism for his favorite team lol
All we can do is hope for the best and not be miserable
Hey he said he could be a solid hire. That post wasn’t optimistic at all lol.
You know what? You’re right lol.Hey he said he could be a solid hire.
That’s as optimistic as it gets around here lol
My point is that we haven't even given him a chance to show what he can do as a head coach. It’s nothing against him. He was a bad hire. He was a comforts me hire for Jerry. That’s where a lot of frustration comes from. They didn’t even have a legit coaching search and it bothers me they felt bringing the same coaching back to repeat the same “success” was smart.
I get that. I’m just saying no one is gonna be happy about it in April. My point is that we haven't even given him a chance to show what he can do as a head coach.
I mean even Parcells didn’t work out lol.Doesn’t matter who the HC is until they are forced to go the Parcells route and bring in someone who is capable of also being in charge of personnel and changing the way certain things are done.
Jerry is still playing with his toy in full force for now.
No one he would hire would have a chance with a declining roster and QB whose record setting deal is just now beginning…and also likely already in physical decline.
Dak Prescott was literally 2nd in MVP voting 2 seasons ago. He was on pace to have another MVP worthy season last season prior to his injury. Your comment is baseless, insulting, and an example of a character attack gone wrong. Do betterI’ve been pretty lukewarm on everything Cowboys since they have decided to back up the Brinks truck for Dak. Can’t remember being this negative about the Cowboys ever. But the more that I look at the Schotty hire, the more I wonder if he might have actually been a really solid hire.

Sure he did. The Cowboys got their new stadjum.I mean even Parcells didn’t work out
