Schottenheimer likes his guys in free agency

It's one thing to like your own guys and focus on resigning them first, but to solely go this route is a set up for failure. Hopefully we can do more in free agency this time around. Which is why I wouldn't be surprised to see a surprise trade of a player to shed a contract or to avoid a huge payout. I think Micah has 50/50 odds of getting moved.

Nobody can name 5 great plays Osa made this year. Most (myself included) probably can't name 1
Never really saw ignorance as a compelling argument.

Osa was the only DT we had that was consistent off the ball, with his hands, and finishing through contact. I have tons of images in my mind of him doing all the above. You either had guys who were wildly inconsistent like Mazi or the geriatric club that couldn't get off the ball and were stood up constantly.

Outside of Osa we don't have a starting caliber DT.

Here's the deal with Schottenheimer.

He knows he's hit lifes lottery in getting this job.

He knows there will be no quality free agents coming

He knows the company line here and how to articulate it.

He's about to make the most money he's ever made before and as the old saying goes " if forced copulation is inevitable, it's best to just lay back and enjoy it"

I personally don't prescribe to that biblical verse but I'm not about to contradict Confucius on a football forum

Lol wow..never heard it put like that but point taken.

It's like people were not listening to what he was saying.

He was talking about wanting to keep guys like Rush, Osa, Golston, Dowdle, Sieg, and Lewis and how there were competition for their services. If they were able to resign those guys, tag Parsons, and only a couple Steve-o Cheapo Specials, I would be more than happy with the outcome.

Reasonably those guys are worth north of $50m AAV between them. Micah's tag will be huge. The cap is $288m not infinite.

He was hired to be Jerry as a coach.

I know some of ya'll are expecting this story of "The guy that never got a chance being great" but it ain't gonna happen.

He was brought in to be a loser until the loser QB's contract is up. He will leave with Dak.

There will then be a new HC and QB in town the same year.

Fans , many of them , will mutiny if we trade or even tag Micah. I seriously think he gets traded. His contract number will be outlandish and we all know the Jones boys almost refuse to set the market on these kinds of contracts. For this reason, he gets traded or they just make him play out his current deal then become a free agent, which would be moronic.

He needs to be traded. We are cap strapped and need multiple impact players on rookie contracts. I also think Micah will start his decline being an undersized edge rusher, injuries will mount up
