Schottenheimer likes his guys in free agency

He was hired to be Jerry as a coach.

I know some of ya'll are expecting this story of "The guy that never got a chance being great" but it ain't gonna happen.

He was brought in to be a loser until the loser QB's contract is up. He will leave with Dak.

There will then be a new HC and QB in town the same year.
I thought that initially too, but seeing how he has assembled his staff and hearing him I'm optimistic, not to mention the public endorsements from some his peers.

Fans , many of them , will mutiny if we trade or even tag Micah. I seriously think he gets traded. His contract number will be outlandish and we all know the Jones boys almost refuse to set the market on these kinds of contracts. For this reason, he gets traded or they just make him play out his current deal then become a free agent, which would be moronic.
He has been one of the elite pass rushers every year he has been in the league. He has been consistently available playing 67 of 71 games. He is aged 25 and has 5 more prime years left.

He is one of the players that is actually worth the highest paid non-QB slot as he is one of the best non-QBs in the league. First year LB/EDGE tag is a lot cheaper than that.

And fans are about as mutinous as possible. The only thing saving Jerry and kids is the Luka trade. Jerry is hiding out from reporters at the combine. Smart move.

And what do you mean they are reluctant to set the market? What does that even mean in this context?

He needs to be traded. We are cap strapped and need multiple impact players on rookie contracts. I also think Micah will start his decline being an undersized edge rusher, injuries will mount up
Cap strapped? They can sign whoever they want.

he knows who this f/o is...and what they will and won't do.
if you want f/a's...then you better like whose yours...because our gm IS NOT bringing in quality f/a's from outside.

That a boy! Fallin’ right in line.

Here's the deal with Schottenheimer.

He knows he's hit lifes lottery in getting this job.

He knows there will be no quality free agents coming

He knows the company line here and how to articulate it.

He's about to make the most money he's ever made before and as the old saying goes " if forced copulation is inevitable, it's best to just lay back and enjoy it"

I personally don't prescribe to that biblical verse but I'm not about to contradict Confucius on a football forum
Besides, don't the Jones family go on vacation around March 10th?

They have a belief that players should accept less to be here ,just to be a cowboy, rather than getting a max deal. Bryan Broaddus and many others over the years have stated they have a belief in the front office, never to set the market value of a player by overpaying. That's why I just can't see Micah getting a new deal here. The Joneses have a belief ,and we have a cap. If he's here, it won't be long.

Ok the main thing here is in both clips, we dont hear the question !!
Now from what little he said, there is nothing wrong with what he said.
Teams naturally want to look at there own guys and decide who they want to keep,
from group that is at end of their contracts. That is normal to do that, and that has to be
done 1st.
He did say external too, and without knowing the question or hearing all of what he said lol,
I dont get much from this.

I think most of you either didnt watch the vids, or are assuming too much.

It's one thing to like your own guys and focus on resigning them first, but to solely go this route is a set up for failure. Hopefully we can do more in free agency this time around. Which is why I wouldn't be surprised to see a surprise trade of a player to shed a contract or to avoid a huge payout. I think Micah has 50/50 odds of getting moved.
Micah won't be moved.

Not a chance.
