Schottenheimer on what he wants at RB and OL

well their you go. we are getting Jentry at what ever pick in the 1st round.
This means someone is trading up to 11 and taking him right out of our laps.
This team publicly announces their draft strategy.

Such a defeatist attitude about the run game. Hey, sometimes teams will just make a commitment to stop the run so we need to pass when they do.

A real running game imposes their will on a defense. They don't give a damn about what your commitment is on defense.

Keep in mind the reason he was let go in Seattle supposedly is he didn't run the ball enough. That was the "philosophical difference" between him and Pete Carroll.
Ironically, it was Carroll that made arguably the costliest decision not to run in league history.

Not running the ball enough was also a knock on Moore during his time in Dallas.

His comments about running through arm tackles and contact is front and center why the Deuce is not loose.

Hampton in the second and Clay in the 6th would be an awesome one two punch!

Chances are Jentry won't be there when Dallas picks. At least that's what they are saying. The Joneses have avoided drafting a running back the last few years. Who knows what they do.

I would love to have Hampton with a small trade back. He is a 3 down back and was super productive in college over two seasons.

Cool

You just let the FO know what NOT to give you

He could be describing several RBs in this draft, but it sounds a lot like Jeanty. Or it could be Cam Skattebo. I'd like to see them grab 2 RBs in this draft. One thunder and 1 lightening.

I am thrilled to hear Guyton is in the weight room every day. what he lacked last year was upper body/arm strength. Guyton did not do the bench press drill at the combine and apparently not at his pro-day workout either so I have no idea what kind of strength he had coming into the draft but watching him play it looked like he could not control stronger DEs with his arms. We're used to seeing Tyron Smith get his hands on guys and stoning them in their tracks. Tyron was brutally strong in the upper body. Guyton needs to work on getting some of that arm strength.

This is why I think when OL and DL do not do the bench press drill it is a yellow flag. Same with WRs, RBs, CB that don't run the 40. It makes me wonder what they might be trying to hide.
