This site is part of social media, and the posts by most fans reflect the same stuff you see on Facebook and other media.
No one is happy to watch a football game; no one is happy watching rookies and marginal players progress; no one is happy when a losing team plays their hearts out in a meaningless game. For so many fans who grew up receiving participation trophies and other fans who find no joy in their lives, all they know is complaining and blaming.

Don’t get me wrong; there is plenty to be disgusted about.
  • How many years does it take anyone to realize you have to stop the run against the better teams and in the playoffs?
  • How many years does it take, especially since we‘ve seen both sides of it right here with Dallas, till you realize you must have at least 2 receivers who can win their matchups at a high rate and make plays?
  • Will Jerry need more than this one year to realize the importance of having a playmaker at RB even if he’s not your bell cow?
  • Certainly, everyone in the world saw what Jerry did to coaches, players, and fans with his lack of activity and attention to the roster last offseason.
But the day to day complaining and negativity is overwhelming and painful. No one is asking fans to drink the kool-aid or believe a word that comes out of Jerry’s mouth, but come on! It’s the same thing every day, every thread….Dak Dak Dak, Mike Mike Mike, Jerry Jerry Jerry. All or some come up in every thread even when it has nothing to do with the point of the OP.

It‘s no different than Politics; no one respects any idea but his own. Be negative, insult people, win the argument….get a trophy.
And just in case there might be a new forum member who hasn’t heard your point 1,000 times already, better run it all out there again.

I believe everyone here is a true Cowboys fan, but I also believe there are a lot of fans who’d rather complain and rag on every player who makes a mistake than actually win. We saw it all two seasons ago with fans that couldn’t even enjoy the 12 wins nor let us enjoy it because they complained and pointed out flaws. And they can look at the GB playoff game and say they were right and post that till we all puke, but it just proves it‘s part of the whole social media poison. I don’t believe they are like that in real life because if any one of them went to a Cowboys party with family and friends and shouted everyone down, insulted people enjoying the game, and complained throughout, they’d be asked to go home….lol.

Jerry looked as hungover as I've ever seen him. I don't know how he's able to do that at 80 years old.

At this point I'm just exhausted being a fan of this team. I'm so tired of the lies, the ineptitude, the dysfunction. I have wasted so much time and energy over the last 30 years with nothing to show for it. They can hire whoever they want. At this point I just don't care anymore.

I know, huh? Why the hell would some fan come to a Cowboy Forum to express their feelings? I guess everyone should call Dr. Phil. By the way, do you have his number for all of us disgruntled Cowboy fans? Or maybe we are not Cowboy fans after all.

Agreed…I don’t know that winning 3 Super Bowls back in the 90’s can even be attributed to what the Jones’ family did…Jimmy was the architect of those teams, Jerry just signed the check and went along for the ride…then became petulant and fired Jimmy…and we all know how the rest of the story unfolded over the next 30 years.
Yeah…Switzer won a Super Bowl…but essentially with Jimmy’s team. Maybe that’s where Jerry gets confused in thinking he could win without Jimmy.
If you were a fan of the Cowboys back before Jerry, one thing you’d definitely be thankful to Jerry for is rescuing the franchise from the ownership of Bum Bright who was running it into the ground, literally on the verge of bankruptcy. He was an owner as spiteful as Dan Snyder.

You totally missed the point because you want to share your misery. We are talking about never having anything to say but complaints. Complaining even when winning. That’s what a huge majority of fans have been doing and will continue to do right up till a SB is won. It’s one thing to point out what’s wrong with Jerry, the team, the QB, the defense, but why rehash it every day, during every game. Every play call in the red one that doesn’t score is terrible. Even completed passes that weren’t perfect is reason to complain. People like that are just naturally negative people that others don’t want to be around.

This was straight out of central casting. Texas team, billionaire oilman buffoon owner as GM and wanting to be HC. Goofball son born with a silver spoon in his mouth next in line.
Both trying to sound like the smartest man in the room while rambling on about osmosis and how the other successful teams in the league really dont know what they are doing.

Everything about today bothered me

-Osmosis? That is a resume filler?
-Guy makes Dick Vermeil look like Mr T
-How has his personality/hype not translated before? No substance maybe
-Jerry thinking being lazy is the real gamble
-Culture change..again why hasn’t hype man done this in 14 other places

Guy seems genuine but he seems naive about his situation
Don’t think he is a super sharp dude

Yet, here you are complaining about posters complaining. Not every thing in life are Unicorns and Lolly Pops.

What do you think this forum should be about then? Should Reality insist that every comment be positive and anything negative said the poster will be banned for life? Is that what you would like this place to be?

If you don't want to be around it, then why are you here? You make no sense.

I’ll give you one thing about message boards and social media. I think without them most fans would be happier in a sense that they wouldn’t spend as much time on these boards and thus the team so they’d probably just accept it sucks and complain to family and friends on Thanksgiving.

But honestly boards like this invite discussion and parsing out of team issues and it’s harder core fans so they will have opinions. I think people get frustrated because Jerry treats people and fans like they are dumb and then it trickles down. We’ve seen the lies, the inability to fix positional issues, coaches etc and it never changes. So it builds up! I couldn’t stand Garrett but I flew with a whole crew of in-laws to LA for the Rams divisional game years back to cheer them on and our D got run all over. I just think if fans thought the FO was really trying…coaches, free agency, trades, etc you wouldn’t hear it as much. But we are weirdly coming not far from 3 12 win seasons but feeling more like a wasteland with Jerry. 29 yrs. It’s hard to be motivated when he talks

well that was interesting listening to schottenheimer tell us fans what he expects this football team will look like with him at headcoach. one problem he has already is he has one hand already tied behind his back because the jones are not going to get him good enough players for him to win. i see this team finishing 8-9 this coming season.

If the Jones boys don't like the complaints from fans, then work not to give us anything to complain about or at least try something different.

I haven't watched the presser yet but I hear people saying it was mostly Jerry Jones rambling with very little being said by Schottenheimer.

One thing that has me at least a little optimistic is Schotty claiming his offense will use a lot more motion, misdirection, etc.. Which is a huge difference from Big Mike's staleness.
